I want to see it. I literally have no mental picture of her face, so no matter what bioware does I really won't be disappointed.

If she looked very humanish I would say it is unrealistic, but I'd roll with it (quarians are pretty humanlike)

If she looked extremely alien and ugly, I'd roll with it too (she is an alien after all)

I vote no.

First of all, mystery is attractive. It's why a hot woman in lingerie looks sexier than the same woman naked. Taking away the mystery will take away a large part of what everyone finds so appealing about Tali.

Secondly, no matter what they do, they're going to disappoint as many or more than they please by putting a face to Tali and/or the quarian species. People keep posting the same image (used in the OP) as an example of how Tali can "look good" but not only do I personally not think she looks terribly attractive in that image (I prefer the purple space-elf pic that's floating around, tbh) but the simple fact that people are already formulating their expectations of her appearance based on a fan-created image that with almost 100% certainty IS NOT going to be how BioWare represents her when/if they choose to is already proof enough that even the people demanding that we see Tali's face are just setting themselves up for their own disappointment.

Tali is fine as is. The mystery works, as the thousands/millions of rabid Tali fans can attest to. Why fix what ain't broken? Just picture her however you want her to look and be happy with that secure in the knowledge that no one can tell you you're wrong as long as the mystery holds.

True, but it would be kind of disappointing never knowing the truth, what she truly looks like. Maybe in one of the spin-off games we'll see what a generic Quarian looks like, but not Tali.

Thanks a bunch, she seems short though.

No problem
If I find the time tomorrow I can try to extend her a little bit as well. :P

Done. Not 100% perfect maybe but it should be acceptable.
have fun with it.

i think my problem with revealing Tali's face is that once they do it... do you really want to go back?

i say this because as soon as another franchise - Halo - started using characters that would take their helmets off it made it difficult to identify with the dude in the suit like master chief was, now every cutscene i'd rather be looking at the faces of the characters than looking at helmets... i think if they revealed Tali's face at the end of ME3 that would work, sorta like Return of the Jedi because as soon as you reveal a face that's how you remember the character from that point onward in the story

Wouldn't it be a whole lot more than "kinda" disappointing if BioWare revealed that quarians looked like something you didn't find appealing?

If BioWare knows what's good for them, they'll never reveal what any quarian looks like. Even in a spin-off. In a lot of ways, revealing what a generic quarian looks like without revealing what Tali herself looks like is the worst thing they could possibly do. It will only disappoint everyone by establishing a default appearance for quarians (Where maybe it's revealed that they're hairless, they have ears and teeth like a ferengi, and their skin is scaly? Would you be happy then?) without actually giving people what they trully wanted by revealing what Tali looks like, and therefor being forced to project that default appearance onto her without trully knowing; so basically the worst of both worlds.

So... Why can't Quarians wear a transparent visor again? I get the lack of privacy on the Flotilla argument, but why do all of them (without exception) have toned visors?

Maybe, the curved shape of the visor would bend the light in a certain way so that they look ugly even though they aren't! It all make sense!

JK. But the toned visors make *some* of them look awesome, combined with their enviro-suits.

Maybe it could be an option for the players. There could be an dialogue between Shepard and someone else as to what quarians look like. Then you could describe the quarian people in your own words or opt out thus not revealing what's behind the mask.

I wanna see her face. If I have the option to have my Shepard bone her, I wanna know what she looks like.

I mean seriously.

Why that pic?

It makes me not want to click on it to vote. If Tali is umasked, I would hope to God she doesn't look like that. (as in human)

Tali must look alien.

Do not want that Tali face in that pic.

This.

The artist is talented, but that's a human in Tali's suit.

No, its safer to just leave it to the mystery. Besides, I am not a huge fan of that pic. Although, its not a big deal either way.

Yes i guess i do. I have to admit i am a little curious. But the again, perhaps it would be best not to do it. That way you are atleast not gonna **** it up er disappoint annyone. The character is so popular, there would be a huge outcry if they didn't get it right and you can be sure that no matter what, not everyone will be pleased. So basically, i am a little torn but because of my curiousity i'm leaning toward a yes.

I don't care if it's Tali, I just want to see some quarian unmasked. I'm really curious what they look like.

Their skin never breathes or gets any sun. It may not be pretty at all.

I wouldn't mind seeing what Bioware decide on what Tali and all the Quarians should look like. I'm not too precious about the mystery. Plus with them wrapping up the story in ME3 they may not revisit the ME universe anytime soon or at all I'd like to see it before it's finished and gone.

my guess is she'll look similar to OP, but with a middle eastern tinge to it.

Edit:  Yes I want to see her face, damn it.

Oh please. All you people blabbering away about "someone's going to be disappointed". Of course they will be. Someone is ALWAYS disappointed when it is revealed *coughcoughcoughME2coughcough*, but in the end, we'll all be better off for it. People lived when Darth Vader was unmasked, and he was the central character in the biggest sci fi story ever.

I personally have no mental conception of what tali looks like. at all. I'd prefer if she was vaguely humanoid but still alien, but if she looked like the op's picture, i'd deal with it. If she looked like Predator, I'd deal with it.

I want to know dang it.

Yeah, but we didn't spend half the movie trying to get into Vader's enviro-suit. Also, we didn't have the Interwebz around to speculate about whether or not Vader was a face-hugger or a preteen girl.

Personally, I don't really care. Tali for me has always been about the quality of her character more than what she looked like. Helmet can stay on, helmet can come off, I'll like her just the same.

...

My GOD, we are nerds.
