If you want bowstrings go buy a real bow.
What is it with Bioware's hatred of bowstrings?

Or how do you convince the player that the model is actually pulling the cord and it's not just some pre-canned anim.
At the end of the day, you look at your resources, which features to create you have left. And then, you cut things.

Pretty much... waste of time and resources. Show me an RPG with bowstrings!
Every 3D rpg in existance.
No.
Even runescape.. a flashbased browser MMO has bow strings, there really is no excuse for it no matter what reason you come up with.
I hate ninjas...Bioware hates ninjas.

If they hate ninjas, then why did they turn the rogue class into a ninja?

Hey, quivers don't get emptied either. People can draw arrows out of a fixed back quiver (love to know how they manage that..,)
I would actually prefer it that way. I've played tons of RPG's where you didn't have countless arrows in your quiver & you actually (gasp) had to buy them. I somehow made it through.

Weapon models in DA don't carry "skeleton" data which would allow to animate them. Technical limitation.Radwar wrote...
DAO didn't have them, and now DA2 doesn't have them aswell.

OP doesnt know this and few have in fact know this. Mike Laidlaw's first love was bowstring. Bowstring and Laidlaw were going to have a family one day but they were just teenagers. One day, nefarious Spear told Bowstring that Laidlaw was seen one day with Dagger. Bowstring didnt like that so much and to make Laidlaw jealous, Bowstring started to hang out with Michal Madej (lead designer for the witcher). Laidlaw saw that and got his heart broken by Bowstring.
Ever since the tumultuous affair years gone, Bioware supported Laidlaw in having no Bowstring in DA games and on it is rumored that Spear will never show in DA games as well... That is a tale how I heard it but Im guessing Laidlaw isnt 7 feet tall and can't crush a mans head with one hand.
THE END

Bows in Guild Wars 2 won't have strings either. Go on their forums and COMPLAIN! Take a few hours off this forum.
After reading some of your posts, you really come off as a Bioware fanatic. When you're almost offended at someone because he "dared" second guess one of Bioware's decision, that's when there's a good chance you have a problem. Don't get me wrong, I love Bioware games, heck the only games I haven't bought from them is Shattered Steel & MDK 2, but I'm not a fanatic and thus don't agree a %100 with every decision they make which is my right.
And BTW nobody is forcing you to read this thread, if you don't like it, go on another thread.
