I'm more bothered about the infinite arrow spawning pores on the back of everyone's back.

But whatevs. I'm easy.

You should be careful, PhrosniteAgainROFL will want to jump on your throat for daring to speak your mind against one of Bioware's design decisions.

DAO didn't have them, and now DA2 doesn't have them aswell.

Weapon models in DA don't carry "skeleton" data which would allow to animate them. Technical limitation.

Except when they do, apparently. Like Bianca, as noted. It has strings and the bows bend during each shot.

Bows in Guild Wars 2 won't have strings either. Go on their forums and COMPLAIN! Take a few hours off this forum.

After reading some of your posts, you really come off as a Bioware fanatic. When you're almost offended at someone because he "dared" second guess one of Bioware's decision, that's when there's a good chance you have a problem. Don't get me wrong, I love Bioware games, heck the only games I haven't bought from them is Shattered Steel & MDK 2, but I'm not a fanatic and thus don't agree a %100 with every decision they make which is my right.

And BTW nobody is forcing you to read this thread, if you don't like it, go on another thread.

No, I'm just laughing at the things people complain about.

Most of the time, even a game got it, it doesn't look good because it is made from...pixels.

I remember something about capes and bowstrings in relation to GW2. Perhaps it was, "NO BOSTRINGS FOR YOU" and I simply misremembered.

I think the bigger concern is Bioware's hatred of spears. Why, Bioware?

Shhhht. People will start complaining about the spear teleporting back to the character. It's "unrealistic". Hahah. Some people need to get out more often.

It's minor aspect which is difficult, time consuming and as a reesult of the first two, expensive thing to include, especially when barely anyone cares or even notices.

I suspect that's good part of reason why Varric is limited only to Bianca and cannot equip any other weapon. For all we know, what we think to be his crossbow may very well be part of Varric's model, actually.

Btw, i just checked quickly in DAO and i can't see Leliana's bow to bend or animate at all when she uses it. The sound is quite effective at making one imagine there is some of it going on, though Posted Image

I'll see later if it's any different in DA2.

Because maybe they don't want to have to animate the strings? That could be 50 hours of useless work since I think people don't really care

This. Why waste time getting bowstrings right when you can spend the time making something else awesome?

Bowstrings are so overrated anyway. All bows in Thedas are magic - simple B)

A magical glowing string would be really cool though.

Sort of like the old Dungeon & Dragons cartoon where the arrow would be magical aswell and appear when you pulled the string back. It would also solve the endless arrows in the quiver problem some people have.

Dungeons & Dragons video, start looking at :28 seconds to see what I mean.

Because everyone here is a experienced game designer and knows exactly how simple it is to implement bowstrings into a game engine that they know little about, why don't you all mod it?

People are aloud to asks questions & say what features they would like in a game.  Not to you apparently.

Oh I'm sure some people will.

Besides, one doesn't need to be an architect to point out that a house is crooked.
