Because everyone here is a experienced game designer and knows exactly how simple it is to implement bowstrings into a game engine that they know little about, why don't you all mod it?
People are aloud to asks questions & say what features they would like in a game. Not to you apparently.
People are also aloud to point out how stupid a thing is to complain about. Who cares if there isn't bowstrings? Does it really matter? How often are you going to be zoomed in looking at the side of your characte? It's not like Dragon Age is going to look realistic.
The game is coming out in 7 days, you're a bit late for suggestions anyways.

But different analogies can still apply.
You don't need to be an accomplished movie director to point out the flaws in Avatar.
You don't need to be an ex-President to be able to have an opinion on Obama.
You don't need to be a structural engineer to say that an old bridge's supports are crumbling.
Etc etc.

Can't. You'd need to somehow force the game engine to play additional animation for the held weapon when the attack animation plays for the character, and that goes beyond what can be just modded and into changing the engine itself.Nimpe wrote...

If you don't care about bowstrings, then what are you doing wasting your time in this thread? When people make a thread about something I don't care about, I don't go wasting my time making smarta** posts in it, and this might shock you, but not everyone likes & dislikes everything you do. You should learn to live with that.

Working for BioWare must be the best job in the world. You can just drop stuff out of sheer laziness and don't even have to defend it yourself. This place is crowded with people just doing that all day...
This post is so true.
It's as if we attacked them personally.

Pretty much... waste of time and resources. Show me an RPG with bowstrings!
Every 3D rpg in existance.
No.
Even runescape.. a flashbased browser MMO has bow strings, there really is no excuse for it no matter what reason you come up with.
Don't forget Diablo 2!

DAO didn't have them, and now DA2 doesn't have them aswell. I don't know why, it really irks me alot. It's the first thing I noticed in the new Exiled Prince screenshots on the Dragon Age 2 official webpage.

But they added a nice twang effect for every time you let an arrow fly... can't you just use your imagination? The twang is enough for me, I am now fine with no bowstring.

What's with people's obsession with having an animated thin black line on the bow they won't be able to see 90% of the time anyway?

It shows dedication. Small things like that are the difference between trying to make it perfect and cutting out everything that they think they can get away with.Tinxa wrote...

The most overrated RPG ever and Fable? Yeah, you convinced me. ALL bows should have bowstrings!
You are not convinced by evidence you asked for? OK.

But he said every 3D RPG in existance. Also I meant that too. In 2D rpgs it's easy to add bowstrings.
