Considering that DA2 supposedly "dumbs down" DA:O but received an 88 from a European site, that's pretty good

Europeans are really sticklers about game being easier to access. They hate it. For the most part at least

SFX Magazine have given it 3.5 stars out of 5. They say it lacks the scope of the original game as it is plagued with loading screens and small areas (X-box version was tested). They liked the characters and combat but felt the main quest line was not heroic enough.

I got the new issue earlier as a subscriber.

Nice to see it getting such a good scores. IMO anything that gets above an 8.0 usually is a good game in my book.

I got my US PC Gamer in the mail and I think it's the exact same review as the UK edition...94% Don't know if that's worth putting up there or if it would just be redundant. But I don't have a copy of the UK review so I don't really know for sure...but the score is the same.

Don't play on 360 so load times are not my problem. And a less epic and heroic story is exactly the point of DA2. It's supposed to be more grounded.

Pretty much this.. I don't pay attention to reviews at all unless they're below about 6.5 / 65%, that's about when legit worry appears about buying a sub standard product..

Overall I wait for player reviews rather than mags/websites.. Having major advertising makes just about everything they say suspect..

Don't think it's right to compare the console versions, DA2 is clearly designed a lot more with consoles in mind compared to Origins so there's a good chance it'll rate higher because to put it simply far more effort has been made for the console versions for DA2.

Only real fair comparison is to compare the best version of Origins (PC) with it's PC counterpart.
