I am anti blood smear. If it were done as some component of play, such as necessary to cast an advanced spell, than that would be cool. But continuously? must we be so obvious?

Remember, it's not just a failure to wash Hawke face.

Sweat over 10 years would do that, too.

But I guess that no matter how many times Hawke jumps around, does cartwheels or backflips, how many 2 handed swords Hawke waves around like drumsticks, Hawke does not sweat.

Well.....it's a game....I'm gonna put it on Hawke eventually, so might as well have him wear it now....plus I think he looks boring without it...I want something to set him apart from other people.

I know I'm rolling with the default, but I'm still undecided on the blood smear.

Meh. It doesn't bug me that much. It almost looks like a tattoo or something. I'm undecided if I'll keep it or not.

Both, it just depends upon the playthrough.

No way seriously why would someone keep a smear of blood on their face for 10 years.....

I am undecided. I will probably try a couple playthroughs, both with and without the smear.

I'm under the impression a LOT of people will choose to go with the blood smear once it becomes apparent that the smear itself is connected to a deeply important story twist.

But we shall seeeeee.

I'm not sure that the blood smear will be able to be taken off when put on. Will see when the game comes out.

I agree, I think it's plot related or some such. If you notice in the demo 'legend' Hawke has the blood smear, but once you get to the character creation normal Hawke doesn't. I think that means something, but I'm unsure what.

This is pretty much it.  It's warpaint.  Tell me you wouldn't crap your pants if you saw someone running at you with a giant sword and blood smeared all over their face.  I probably would.  It's the equivalent to the Picts using blue woad to paint their faces.  They mixed water, blue woad plant dye, and ashes and painted it on their face and it would last for days or weeks at a time.  It meant they would sooner die than fail, that there was no turning back.  I'm guessing Hawke smearing blood on this face is something akin to that.

Without I think, its is BA but out of place if you have it all the time.

I guess people didn't watch the dark knight. I think it looks great. I will keep the blood look.

I wish the smear is in CC just so we can preview how our character looks with the smear on :)

I think Hawke looks good with it. Why don't people like it?

I don't like facial modifications.  Facial piercings, tattoos, that little piece of junk on Isabella's chin.  ICK.  Pet peeve of mine.  I don't know why, but they really gross me out.  Personal preference, I suppose.

I won't wear it. As others have said, having it on for battle is cool but not on all the time. It would be cool if some abilities put it on like the warrior's taunt or when a mage uses blood magic.

Also, in the livestream demo they had, they mentioned that abilities like the mage's rock armor or whatever, while active, will be shown in battle, but then out of battle will be invisible, but still active. Maybe the blood smear will be like that. Shown in battle, but not out of it.

Blood Smear = stupid.
