Why wouldn't custom Hawke have the blood smear? He has it in the demo

Not for me.
Using blood as warpaint during battle is fine. But having that thing on your face at all times is just... disturbing. (....especially during romance scenes:sick:)

Well, the smear does fit the warrior. And a mage I guess if he/she is a blood mage. It's like one of that face paint american footballers put under their eyes to prevent light reflecting to their eyes from the cheeks... err.. or something. Looks cool imo.

When I read the thread title I thought, "hey, that should be the official name of the game!"

I bet Isabela would find it hot.

wow. you guys are cool with ogres and witches who turn into dragons but you are so strict about a blood smear?

From what I gather, blood smear is only in the exaggerated parts of the game.

The more I see it, the more I hate it.

I would only want it in exaggerated parts of the game. And also in the champion mage armor.
It looks good in battle but just so ridiculous if you are talking to someone. Who knows maybe they changed it to show only during battles, if not then oh well. Not a big deal to me.

I think Hawke looks good with it. Why don't people like it?
Well, do you generally leave blood, or mustard stains, or dirt on your face for extended periods of time, or do you wash it off?
Me, I wash. That's why I don't like it.
Hawke has it on there intentionally. For my Hawke, I would like to think that he wears it as a memorium to his father.

I think JFarr74 has a good idea.
This I actually like from a rp perspective althought since the father has been dead for I think 3 years before you leave Lothering, I think it would make more sense to have it as a reminder for Carver or Bethany. My sig copy should get here today (yay gamestop for messing up priority shipping) and I have been trying to figure out if I want it or not, but I think I will have it. It does look kind of badass and having it as a reminder I think is a great rp idea.

Hey, you can always use the Black Emporium to change it if you don't like it.

I wanted the blood smear on a custom face personally, as I plan on being a blood mage, it fits for my intended character. Very sad that it doesn't seem possible :C My mage is supposed to have white hair!

I altered my Hawke to the point where his entire face looked nothing like the character featured in the trailer.
