Or
Maybe some people just love the Idea of breaking a Humanoid beings will till they are nothing more then a husk living solely for your will and pleasure.
Or
Maybe thats just me.

If we're comparing the price of the slaves to the amount of money we could gather in Origins, I'm pretty sure the Hero of Ferelden is dirt-poor compared to those who have inheritance money and a booming trade to gain funds from (lorewise, at least). I mean, he's just a guy who travels a hella lot and kills baddies for food and armor to wear and sell to the occasional dwarven vendor he runs into on the road.

I'm rambling... just look up Roman Empire in an encyclopedia or Ancient Egypt or even American history in the past couple centuries. The concept / principles behind slavery are quite clear... not sure how Bioware got it so wrong.

Exactly my thought. I hope your evil characters can have slaves in the game!

[Beer brings her six slaves worth 10 bucks each to some Games convention. Mike Laidlaw accidentally lets three of them free.]
Mike: Sorry I opened the cage by accident and let a couple or so of your slaves go.
Beer: How could you...they were worth te...uh...fif...uh...ONE MILLION DOLLARS EACH!!!
Mike: OH NO WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!
Beer: To compensate, you must give me all your money and your first born child.
Mike: [Gives over money and first born child]
It is typical businessman talk to exaggerate your stated loss when it can lead to greater opportunity of profit or greater chance of obligation.

Is this a serious topic? I am actually awake right now? This can't be something people actually want to discuss...
its not that terrible of a topic. Dont post if it upsets you so much.
I'm not upset or offended. It's just IMO an incredibly weird thing to want to discuss about a video game. I'm genuinely confused if this is actually a topic that wants to be taken seriously or if its tounge in cheek.
Then you SERIOUSLY have not been on these forums long enough if you think this post is wierd.

Wow....this topic, that question....
"Why is my mage staff just a bit pricier than some slaves? I don't get it. Slaves in Thedas are pricey.....also if you don't like this topic don't post..."
Hmm......wow.
What's not to understand? If you have nothing to add to the discussion and no interest in the topic, why do you post here at all? Heck, why are you even reading it past the the op in the first place?
