Most reprehensible character in Dragon Age? (Spoilers)

I do love that section of the story, though - Hespith's chant is so creepy, especially the first time. And when Branka says "I am your Paragon," which is something like "I am your God" according to Dwarven beliefs. A bit of a flaw in Dwarven religion, I think ... Though the "fiendish traps" are really quite easy, even for me - and I found the "Easy" setting challenging the first time though.

Howe, Vaughan, and Caladrius are all pretty nasty.
But hey I get to give them all a religious experience as it were.

Rendon Howe. There is no graver trespass than to violate the bonds of kinship and hospitality.
This. I seriously hate that guy and make it a priority to kill him with the family sword (HNO) every time I play through.

For me, it's a tie bewtween Branka, and Loghain. I mean, betraying your king, and country, for power, and prestige? What a nice person...
Well, to be fair Loghain wasn't looking for personal power or any prestige. He was mostly after those pesky Orlesians. Still, a certain Renaissance writer may have admired the guy if he succeeded. (Loghain fails very badly when the Blight turns out to be, you know, real.)
Branka and Loghain both feel like crazies to me, with some tragic hero in Loghain if you read "The Stolen Throne." Both go off the deep end in nastiness in DAO and generally deserve a beating if not death.
Howe, though. Oh man. Sometimes, I'm almost glad his bid for power and prestige got him into a hilarious anticlimax: dying alone in a basement. How embarrassing to want everyone to know your name and end up getting killed in your own dungeon and forgotten. That oily snake got what he deserved, whether or not HN players got what they wanted.

Fair enough. I guess DAO, is filled with extremists. To bad you can't make a truly evil character

Personally, I'm actually kind of glad that the evil actions aren't puppy-kicking for lulz except in rare cases (the guy in the lava cage in Awakening is just too tempting to pass up kicking!) Though if you're looking for reprehensible PC actions, try tainting the Urn, killing your allies, killing the Reavers after accepting their gift, then killing the scholar. When the warden walks into that temple, no one is going to leave alive.

Lol, yeah. But my problem is that, no one ever really acknowledges, the fact you're "Evil", yeah sure, you're a Grey Warden, but, still I want people to run and hide, when I enter a town. Maybe DA2, will present this. "The player decides whether Hawke is a kind ruler or an unscrupulous despot. He's called Champion - the question is: 'By whom?'" [GameStar Sept 2010 article]

In fact that rapist from the City Elf origin might be the worst louse of the lot, since he doesn't even have better reasons for his villainy than pure narcissm. Branka at least considers herself working for "higher" goals, not that it matters when the end result is seen...

Vaughn/Howe/Branka come in at a very close second. Bhelen's a goober too.

Branka used to top my list. however, Bhelen moved up when I saw just how many people started to worship him (in-game and out of it) without any real reason. At least if the writers had made his act a bit more convincing I would have bought all the fanatics (like the ones that attack you in Orzamamr) but meh.
EDIT
Start countdown for the time when this thread turns into yet another *BHELEN IS THE DWARVEN MESSIAH!* thread

Loghain and Branka were monsters but Loghain genuinely believed he was doing the right thing and Branka was completely insane. Vaughn on the other hand is just a pure sociopath who kidnaps and rapes women and makes a big show of it just because he can do it and can get away with it

So you hate Bhelen because he is liked by many people on the forums? That's no different from all those people who hate Tali because of her fanbase, so yeah way to go. But yeah continue to believe that just because YOU don't like him other people don't have a reason TO based on just game in-game knowledge.
As far as I can see your hatred is made up of the fact that he actually becomes a good king while the person you likely picked ( Harrowmont ) ends up being a complete idiot as a ruler, but hey go ahead.
My list would be made up of Zathrian and Vaughn.

You don't view his plan as realistic, you see plot holes the size of mars in it and you do not think it is possible for him to become the king he does become and hate it how people look at him as great king.
Did I miss anything?

Umm... yes actually...
But I have said it all before. Anyway, you're veering severely off topic here...

Because accusing those who like Bhelen of being blind idiotic fanatics, in an act that you know is provocative, is not off-topic. The topic is about the character you find the most reprehensible based on their personality / acts...etc, not based on their fandom, which is a very idiotic reason.

Ah now, hurling insults like this is alright... because you happen to be fanboys.
And I didn't accuse people of fanatics, I said the ones in the GAME (that attack you) are, and that there ARE fanatics in RL, not that the poster above was... but of course you will interpret things however you want.
Ah well, I guess i can't argue with this logic.

No, you said those who like ("worship") Bhelen here, are like the fanatics in the game. Because fanatics by definition have blind faith, aka "worshipping without any real reason".
So either choose your words properly, or better yet, since this is completely off-topic and provocative, refrain completely.

Yes, I said those who worship him... and gave no names... so why exactly did you take it so personally? I fail to see your point.
I know you accused Costin of worshipping him in his ff thread. Since his reasons for liking Bhelen are similar to mine, then the accusation is directed at me, and many other "misaimed fans" as well. We know who you were implying.
I am the one who fails to see your point and how that is in any way relevent to Bhelen as a character.
