Alright, so i pre-ordered Dragon Age 2 Signature Edition back at the 11th of January, and was quite thrilled about the whole ordeal, and the excellent demo only made me even more excited about DA2. I was starting to put on my robe and wizard hat, when something cataclysmic happened. Yesterday my birthday came along and a wonderful email from EA, giving me a $13-off code to use in their store online.  However, my moment of joy was short lived, as i got an email from the shop where i pre-ordered DA2, stating that my pre-order had been cancelled, due to EA not being able to deliver more than 10% of the total amout the store needed. :( So my pre-order of the otherwise awesome signature edition got canned, due to EA not being able to deliver. :crying:

Back when DA:O came out i took a leap of faith and bought the Digital Deluxe edition of it, not really knowing what the game was about, but ended up using around 56 hours in the game and really enoying myself. Now I won't be getting my hands on DA2. I really don't feel like pre-ordering the game again, without those nice pre-order bonuses. So what do I do now? Pre-order a normal version of the game, and aid EA anyway, or save my money and maybe buy Elder Scrolls: Skyrim or maybe something else?

Have any of you guys experienced the same, and if yes, what did you do?

Whatever EA tried to do, they ****ed up. I suspect they'll lose a lot of money over this.

Surely. I suspect a good part of the people that have been cancelled their preorder will not preorder again DA2.

I ordered with steam. You get the black emporium and some sword and sheild if you order with them now. It's better than nothing, right? Also. I will be getting battlefield 3 and skyrim when they come out, but it's not going to be for a while so I don't need to start saving up yet.

A lot of people in the uk have been getting their orders cancelled, so you're not alone.

I'm pretty sure that another member got $20 bucks for the same thing. Give them a ring.

It's been quite the debacle, I do hope they learn from this and we just get a standard and collectors edition for ME3 and any future titles.

I've heard of various retailers cancelling orders due to several different flavors of idiocy, but this is the first i've seen that is apparently EA's fault. Do you still have your receipt/confirmation from ordering it? if so, hit up the ea customer support and go full on bruce-banner-in-a-bad-mood.

My best advice would be to call EA, with all proof in front of you (purchase, cancellation email, etc.), and tell them that you preordered signature edition and payed good money and demand that they give you what you payed for, if the guy says he can't, demand to speak to a supervisor, and I'm sure he/she would be able to. Good luck.

I agree with Black_Warden and Daniteh. Especially because this time the fault seems from EA.

It should be noted, that I've had retailers deliberately lie to me about who's fault it is that they don't have 'enough' of something to cover their own tail. That being said, who knows if that's happening in this case or not...

Really? You know EA only gives out a certain number of Collectors Editions (signature editions in this case) to each and every retailer. The retailers are more then aware of this. Its not EA's fault they accept more pre orders then CE's available.

I feel your pain OP, it is a terrible thing that's happened here. EA should be ashamed. If I was in your shoes, I probably wouldn't spend money going to EA on this occasion either.

Why is everyone acting like these extra items are so important and the game isn’t complete without them?

Haha ok well not like that, i really just like saying bruce-banner-in-a-bad-mood. it rolls off the tongue quite well. try it.

anyway, get your confirmations and relelvent emails and such, hit up the customer support and make it clear to them that you made an arrangement with them in good faith, and you should be compensated rather than punished for their inability to competently hold up their end of that arrangement. or somethin.

Hmmm, perhaps this is true indeed! I've not thought of it that way...

the trick is not to be all bruce banner. just speak to them and explain how upset/angry you are by this. Asl ong as you have all the info with you to back up your case. At the moment you haven't lostr any money but you have lost access to the free dlc. I think at the very most Ea should give you the dlc free.
