and maybe buy Elder Scrolls: Skyrim or maybe something else?

I wouldn't recommend it. Any game by Bethesda sucks. From Failout to Elder Scrolls. Not to mention they are buggy pieces of trash.

There is this store near my place where I enlisted my e-mail adress, and as soon as they had the Bioware Signature edition they would send me an e-mail. However, yesterday I got an e-mail saying they won't have any at all, just the regular DA2.

Why does everyone feel the need to us that EAWare isn't getting their special snowflake purchase?

You do realize this is the internet, and she could just lie to bang up some noise?

It's not just this thread. It's all over the forums. If you want to justify this type of behavior from EA that is perfectly fine but going around calling people liars for expressing their frustrations isn't particularly productive.

I'm pretty sure that another member got $20 bucks for the same thing. Give them a ring.

this. with the extra 20$ you can use it to buy the DLC you would have missed and maybe have some left over? the only thing is you wouldn't have the special box.

All from the same people, too.

Pretty much all of whom are going to buy the damn game anyway (if they haven't already), and who are just ****ing and moaning 'cause they've nothing else to do.

I'd say hindsight (see what I did there?) remains 20/20 on this.
In my case, I *should* have pre-ordered from Amazon.com as soon as DA2 was listed. It was only $40 then, before the SE was announced, and I only would have missed out on a few of the "special" retailer-specific pre-order DLC (most of which can probably be manually installed on PC, if the behavior is the same as DA:O/DA:A).
Instead I didn't order until the SE was announced and included "day 1 DLC" as expected. But I still made sure to order from a retailer (Amazon) where I had a high degree of confidence that they'd either get it right or make it right (if possible).
Agree with the note above that retailers which don't have accurate inventory control can cause real problems for those of us who expect reliable service. It's why I essentially order from Amazon, NewEgg, and no one else unless there's some really good deal on something where I don't care about timeliness and can deal with just getting a refund.
So what was the retailer in question, that cancelled the SE order, OP?

If this is really true, it is just wrong... The least they should do is send you a regular copy with all the codes for the DLCs.

Ah, yes. It's all a conspiracy. No cancellations have actually occured so you can all rest easy. These people are just out to besmirch the name of BioWare and EA. They must be working for Activision... or the Pope himself! I mean, those daring sex scenes in Mass Effect must have earned BioWare some mighty enemies.

These things happen from time to time, but why deprive yourself of a great game just because EA screwed up? Don't let someone else' mistake cost both you and Bioware.

Really? You know EA only gives out a certain number of Collectors Editions (signature editions in this case) to each and every retailer. The retailers are more then aware of this. Its not EA's fault they accept more pre orders then CE's available.

Uhm, but this THEIR store. You know, the producer of the game. It's not like it's GameStop where they have the place an order, EA makes the games. And well, it's their fault if they run out. It's also not hard to create some sort of DLC code for people who pre-ordered beforehand so they can download their missed content.

It's strange to hear about all these supposedly not delivered Signature Editions of DA2. You'd think that even if the retailer would not be able to deliver it on the release day, for whatever reason, they'd give you the option of keeping your order and receiving it at a later date, perhaps at a few $ off, or cancel it and give you the money back (if you've already paid for it). I know I'd rather get it later and a few $ cheaper then not at all. Not to mention that they must be losing quite a few future customers through this inability to deliver.

If I were a developer of DA2 I would hate to hear people say " I won't buy the game unless I get every item of digital swag."

Its totally your choice. I personally also love digital swag items, BUT these little items are not so significant that they will add or detract from the overall body of work. I think it would be a shame and a missed opportunity to not play a 50hour game because 5 items are not included.

Your choice, but the game will  be good without all the promo dlc.

Conspiracy? HA! You vastly overestimate my respect for them, my friend.

Trust me. I remember this **** from ME2, from SWTOR and from DAO. Same complaints, same people. Haven't changed their tune one bit.

And even if they have cancelled, so? What do I care? Do they really need to announce it? No, they don't. We are all on these forums 'cause we have nothing to do, and those who complain have even less.

So, once again, shall I break out my violin?

I would think it warrants dicussion as it's an actual issue. But yes, I suppose discussing just how awesome and unfallable BioWare is takes priority on these forums. We wouldn't want reality to get in the way of that, now would we?

Go right ahead. We could use some music.

I personally never had any trouble with DA:O nor Mass 2, and honestly, you probably don't have anything better to do either, if you just try to start a war on a thread where i tried to be as neutral as possible...

I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about, or you don't. The OP didn't order from EA's Store directly. They ordered from coolshop.dk
