I think we're getting to the point where this thread gets hijacked from it's original purpose, and becomes about the greatness/fail of the SE offers. hopefully you found some usefull advice as to how to proceed, cuz i doubt you'll get anything more of value out of this thread.

If they're only giving out so many codes to retailers, they should have the retailers ask for more or redirect to EA for the other people who pre-ordered early. It can't be that difficult.

Yes, Denmark to be more exact.
I feel for you, i have had my SE cancelled twice at different stores, a friend of mine pre-ordered twice and he did not recieve a cancelletion letter, so if i am lucky, i will get a SE.
..but i doubt luck is on my side when it comes to these matter, i wish you luck and hope that you and others who have their order cancelled will get it. EA/Bioware have not responded to this matter, so i doubt any action will be taken to give the SE stuff for free.
PS: I live in the Netherlands.

The things is, the signature edition isnt a limited eddition so to speak, it was an offer with some extra goddies for everyone who order before a set date and all who did should get it.Syrellaris wrote...
Really? You know EA only gives out a certain number of Collectors Editions (signature editions in this case) to each and every retailer. The retailers are more then aware of this. Its not EA's fault they accept more pre orders then CE's available.
If EA can not deliver all the boxes and so on they should at least make sure to give everyone who got their order canceled and have a receipt to show codes for the DLC and the Soundtrack.
Even so, limited or not, they are still bound to a maximum amount per store. There are 1000s of stores around the globe that have been allowed to accept these pre orders, logic dictates that EA gives them all a fair amount of pre orders to abide by. If the store goes over the initial amount, then they are free to request more signature editions. However wether or not EA is able to supply them with such is a different matter.
It is a shame though that customers get caught in something as this, but the fault is not always directly at EA or any other publishing company. Also, I am not saying one does not have the right to complain about, because they do.

This. How do you really run out of digital content?
It's a cheap marketing ploy by Bioware (they are EA).
Like I said, there are other ways of getting content.

My guess is that retailers screwed up this whole process, perhaps not understanding exactly how it was going to work (for example, perhaps they didn't submit their pro-orders to EA until the deadline had passed, and now have a bunch of pre-orders they cannot honour).

I would think it warrants dicussion as it's an actual issue. But yes, I suppose discussing just how awesome and unfallable BioWare is takes priority on these forums. We wouldn't want reality to get in the way of that, now would we?falconlord5 wrote...
And even if they have cancelled, so? What do I care? Do they really need to announce it? No, they don't. We are all on these forums 'cause we have nothing to do, and those who complain have even less.Go right ahead. We could use some music.falconlord5 wrote...
So, once again, shall I break out my violin?
You have thoroughly misunderstood me.
There is no value to any opinion expressed on these forums. They have been expressed so often, that they have become background noise, mere amusement for the devs. And for the occasionaly misanthropic cynic such as myself.
It's not an issue. It never was. People were saying this in DAO, which sold millions. Same with ME2. Same with ME1, BG2 and so on and so forth.
Same with every game ever made. So anyone who thinks that there is even the slightest bit of value in these forums, that these discussions (read: bickerings of random response generators), have any actual worth is a fool.
So, to the OP, so bad, so sad.

... Do you ever get tired of branding people as trolls?
It's not just this thread. It's all over the forums. If you want to justify this type of behavior from EA that is perfectly fine but going around calling people liars for expressing their frustrations isn't particularly productive.
I'm sorry, did I call her a troll? No? And, for all that you accuse me of it, I rarely, rarely use that word.
Oh, was that your own words, being put into my mouth? Seems so. Embarrassing, huh?
My point is, why they hell does everyone post that they're going to cancel their pre-order? You can't prove that you did, and, even if you do, that doesn't mean you won't buy it off the shelf. Making this thread particularly useless. She could have cancelled, and as I expressed earlier, I really don't care.

EA have a chance to solve their screw-up -- yet they don't.
Except for the part where they do. they've already got two of the major retailers that have been canceling SEs to admit their errors and reinstate all the cancelled SE preorders. so, yeah, good job fact checking.

The pre-order stuff might be cool but you can get it still and hell if you really want it, download it manually through methods that will present themselves and just buy the normal game... I don't understand how this is such a break it problem.
I do understand you're upset, but the game is what matters, not the tiny little bonuses... gosh when did we become achievement junkies.

I'm saying it's utterly irrelevent whether she's telling the truth, because you can't prove it.
Regardless, you don't seem to know what trolling means, if you think someone lying is the same thing as being a troll.

"Demean"? Saying she could be lying isn't demeaning her. This is a public forum. If I feel the OP is inaccurate, I have every right to say so.

Not upset, more.. dissapointed. And I am probably going to get both games.. if I get this whole thing fixed by either BioWare or EA. And for those of you who were in doubt.. I <3 BioWare, but it was still dissapointing to get met by something like that only a week before release...

Oh, I know full well what trolling is. I also know that trolling and lying goes hand in hand. If you think calling her a liar is any better than calling her a troll... well, that's your prerogative. Nevertheless, a personal attack is still a personal attack.Saibh wrote...

Yes. It's attacking her personality rather than the argument she has made. Something which is against the rules of this forum, I might add. Do you know what an ad hominem is? That is what you engaged in.Saibh wrote...

Thing is, there wasn't suppose to be anything like "to many preorders". The Signature Edtion is not like a Collector's Edition.Elvoria wrote...
So the store you ordered from messed up by taking to many preorders and you blame EA?, way to go!
Everyone that preordered before the cutoff date was suppse to get the SE. Anyone that ordered the regular edition before that date was suppose to get a free upgrade. There was going to be a veritable cornucopia of SE's.
So either a huge number of retailers from several countries gave the wrong number of preorders they got to EA, or messed up their communication to EA in some other way.
Or EA messed up by simply having not enough SE's made, or randomly decided to divide each number of pre-orders they got by 10, or something weird like that.

Ad hominem applies solely to debate and argument. I was not engaging her in debate. Not only that, but saying that you're lying about the foundation of the argument is not actually ad hominen. Ad hominem is to attempt to question validity through something like character.
I was just questioning validity. Nor is it always a logical fallacy.
Now, I'm done arguing with you, because for all that you accused me of being unfair, you turned around and started namecalling and stomping your feet right back at me.
