I'm saying it's utterly irrelevent whether she's telling the truth, because you can't prove it.

Regardless, you don't seem to know what trolling means, if you think someone lying is the same thing as being a troll.

Oh, I know full well what trolling is. I also know that trolling and lying goes hand in hand. If you think calling her a liar is any better than calling her a troll... well, that's your prerogative. Nevertheless, a personal attack is still a personal attack.

"Demean"? Saying she could be lying isn't demeaning her. This is a public forum. If I feel the OP is inaccurate, I have every right to say so.

Yes. It's attacking her personality rather than the argument she has made. Something which is against the rules of this forum, I might add. Do you know what an ad hominem is? That is what you engaged in.

And no, you have no right to openly violate the rules BioWare has set.

Um, FYI I'm not female... Just because I have a female avatar, doesn't mean that I'm female... lol.

Buy both games? They're both different styles and have different purposes... why are you only thinking of buying one?

The pre-order stuff might be cool but you can get it still and hell if you really want it, download it manually through methods that will present themselves and just buy the normal game... I don't understand how this is such a break it problem.

I do understand you're upset, but the game is what matters, not the tiny little bonuses... gosh when did we become achievement junkies.

Not upset, more.. dissapointed. And I am probably going to get both games.. if I get this whole thing fixed by either BioWare or EA. And for those of you who were in doubt.. I <3 BioWare, but it was still dissapointing to get met by something like that only a week before release...

It's not in their bilaws that they're responsible for this sort of thing, granted it would be nice, but it wouldn't be bad if they didn't do anything either.

Damned if you do damned if you don't, essentially...

I'm sorry, did I call her a troll? No? And, for all that you accuse me of it, I rarely, rarely use that word.

Oh, was that your own words, being put into my mouth? Seems so. Embarrassing, huh?

You called her a liar. How exactly is this any different from accusing her of trolling?

I might add that you did this without an inkling of evidence.

I'm saying it's utterly irrelevent whether she's telling the truth, because you can't prove it.

And my point is that you have no right to go into threads and demean other posters as you see fit. She has no reason to prove anything to you and the sooner you realize this the better.

Well if the only thing you have to say in a thread is that the OP could be lying then you probably shouldn't post at all. Because I could do that to most threads and that'd be pretty much considered trolling/spam,.The OP had a valid complaint. If you can't add anything useful you could just ignore it.

Ad hominem applies solely to debate and argument. I was not engaging her in debate. Not only that, but saying that you're lying about the foundation of the argument is not actually ad hominen. Ad hominem is to attempt to question validity through something like character.

An ad hominem is an attempt at replacing an actual argument with an insult. It's like saying "she's lying, therefore her argument is invalid" instead of focusing on the argument presented and pointing out its flaws. Which is exactly what you did, no?

Saibh wrote...

I was just questioning validity. Nor is it always a logical fallacy.

You weren't questioning validity. You were questioning the OP's personality. Something which you have no right to be doing.

Saibh wrote...

Now, I'm done arguing with you, because for all that you accused me of being unfair, you turned around and started namecalling and stomping your feet right back at me.

I think I've sufficiently demonstrated that the only childish one here is you. The fact that you refuse to make amends merely serves to cement it.

Questioning the foundation of an argument isn't trolling nor is it spam. It's not any better than randomly calling people trolls for not liking DA.

It sucks that your SE was cancelled, but making a thread to say that you will not be playing the game because of this is a little pathetic to be honest.

Would I like to have the SE items? Sure, but I'm not going to pass on the entire game just because I do not have access to a handful of trinkets that will, more than likely, only be useful for a few hours of gameplay anyway.

I won't skip the game, but I won't buy it either then.. I'll just borrow a friends copy then.. I just want to support Bioware and at the same time, I want the extra stuff I ordered, even if they might be useless... also, the soundtrack is not bad either.. I liked DA:O's soundtrack back when I got the DD Edition of that...

Hey Guys,
The quote below confirms that neither EA nor Bioware has cancelled any orders to retailers (see quote below).  Captain Crash wasthe one who got play.com to reinstate the orders cancelled in error.  So, I trust her information.  I would suggest that you contact yoour retailer.  If that doesn't work, call the president of the company.  It worked for the captain.

Captain Crash wrote...

I posted this in a thread for
Amazon.co.uk. Hope it helps you out. From the sounds of it its
probably human error and should fix itself.

Chris has confirmed that from their end they havent cancelled any pre-orders to the retailers. So any fault lies directly at Gamestations end.

First
I would give them a call and get a reason as too why your not getting
it. Its much faster and easier then email. The mixed responces from the
staff at Play.com were our biggest indication at first of a much deeper
problem. Try and establish why they have a stock issue with the game a
week before release.

When speaking to them point out these facts, these will get you somewhere right away.

1) I placed my order before 11th January which states that I am guaranteed a pre-order for the SE
2) I have been in contact with the suppliers (EA and Bioware) who have stated there are no stock issues for any platform
3)
The game went gold almost 3 weeks ago. You have had my order registered
now for 3 months and therefore will have communicated my order
placement with the supplier. Why are you only informing me of a problem
a week before release?!
4) No other retailer is experiencing
problems. The only ones that were are Play.com. However they accepted
they too were getting stock and was a human error.

Hopefully
they will give you all a first call resolution. Sounds like some of
you already have. But if they seem confused or give you conflicting
information it may be a deeper issue. Hopefully its human error just
like plays was.

Good luck!! [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

This is not true.

We have enough stock for all pre-orders made within the promotion period. For example, if "X" retailer ordered 100 cpies, we made 100 copies. We did not make 90 copies hoping that would be all they need. We have enough orders for all retailers for all orders made within the promotion period. If retailers continued to sell the offer past the promotion period, then it is the retailers fault, not BioWare/EA's.

If you have a problem with the EA store, I suggest you contact customer service.

LOCKDOWN!
