speaking as a medical professional in training, this does not match observation.
quarians have, from what i can tell, overactive immune systems. they form extremely strong responses like inflammation, mucous production and fever to combat seemingly harmless antigens. a weak immune response would be no fever, inflammation, pain, mucous production or any sign of illness until the disease progresses to the point where body parts start falling of and organs fail.
i can see that they have a very strong allergic response as well... i know i am splitting hairs, but its better to get this stuff right... or its alien biology and i should shut up. your thoughts?
