Are there any guides to doing this that really start at the basics for people like me who have absolutely no clue about what they're doing?

This will convert uncompiled ASCII models for all races (except robes, because they replace parts).
It's not perfect, but damn it's close
All you do is feed it your human models and it converts pieces for all other races and it's fast. I did 1200 models in about 10 minutes or so.

Hm. I had looked at that one before had no idea what it was talking about.. Not sure what to load into it at all, even to start. It also looks like you need a modeling program to use AFTER you convert in this program? Kinda complex for me... >.>

no modelling program required it's very easy. You put your human parts in the input, you select the transform file (it comes with). Hit run.
It chugs away and merrily spits out MDL's for other races you check.
