I know a lot of people are focusing on the icons but the bits about how the personality are formed and the easier ability to change it after each act are more interesting. I'm very curious to see how it will play out in a real game where I am strictly RP'ing my Hawke's responses and not just blindly following a set icon choice.

Technically it's illegal to take pictures of things and show people them if you don't credit sources...

Interesting how personality is formed and can be transformed for each act. So we can start out diplomatic and events might turn us aggresive... Will be interesting to see how it works out

You mean like how I did it in the first sentence?

And if your talking about c+p the pictures I did that myself from the PDF files and my mad Paint skillz, yo!  Yes I see someone had a similar idea but you'll notice I have more info and different, larger pictures.

This is actually kind of disappointing. What's the point of having separate direct and aggressive options if they get lumped together, anyway?

They aren't, Agressive and Direct are lumped together but Combat isn't. I think.

Not sure what you mean here. I'm pretty sure you can pick direct options without picking aggressive options, or vice-versa.

So we've officially got "alignment" in Dragon Age now. Great.

No. we have personality. I, for one, intend on being an aggressive but good character.

Probably to so they didnt have to record Hawke's lines anymore then 3 times. I'm a DA2 skeptic, but thats a fair compromise I think.
As someone just mentioned to me, you can still mix your responces up a little bit.

THIS is the reason I'm still excited about DA2 despite being lukewarm on the new combat. If Bioware pull of a great story, great characters and a whole new level of interactnig with them then I'll be one happy camper!

Yeah, I know that BioWare doesn't want to call it alignment but I have a very difficult time perceiving it as anything else. The game tracks our behavior and based on that it pigeonholes us as one out of three caricatures. I don't like it one bit. Shocking, I know.

Well yes, that was the intent behind alignment.

''At the start of each Arc, Hawke reatins hir or her estabilished personality, but the ''stack'' of previous personality choices is reduced. This gives you a window of opportunity to change your dominant tone.''

Interesting, that way we may be able to change the character over those 10 years.

You don't like it for what it is, a personality simulator, and not for what it isn't, an alignment simulator.

This is good news to me and seems to make sense.  It's likely after all that Acts will end after a culmination of several major events that could change my/your Hawke's outlook and personality.

You truly don't perceive the correlation between alignment and personality?

The whole "tone changing" based on your choice between "Personalities" seems like an awesome idea. I'll enjoy playing through the game as different "Hawkes."
