I just bought it for £7 on amazon as usually enjoy bioware games and had heard people mentioning Kotor and was wondering if it's a good rpg (story, gameplay etc..)

Yes. I'm replaying it right now, and it's still very enjoyable. Make sure you look around for the widescreen patch, if you need that.

As good as ME1 for me, without the original universe of course. The combat system is not in real real time (because there are "round" of 3 sec and you can pause the game), and the gameplay is closer to old school rpg (with feat, skill and power).

One of the few games I've played that I've enjoyed replaying. It reminded me how much fun Star Wars can be when it's done right.

Does God exist? Ok, maybe not the best answer.

Do you have a brain? If so, hell yes, it's good.

it's not good, it's great
the sequel is very good too, despite some flaws (bugs and cut content)

KotOR is awesome. Anyone fancy a HK-47 vs Legion flame war?

Better than both parts of ME put together.
But you have to watch out playing it might make you unable to enjoy ME3 and DA2 when you will know how dumbed down todays Bioware games are compared to that masterpiece.

Considering how IMPOSSIBLE it is to find a used copy in ANY store, yeah I'd say it must be pretty great.

One of my all time favorites, a sentiment which is shared by many others.

Does have some hiccups though.

I think it's the best game ever released on the Xbox and its easily in my Top 10 of all-time. Without question, its the best Star Wars game to date.

Easily a great game. Takes getting used to play it. Controls are a bit outdated, but it's still a blast to play.

Easily in the top 2 for SW games. TIE Fighter takes the cake for me.

The first is the best game ever made, if you ask me. But you'll have to get used to the last gen graphics.
