Hi Dragon Age 2 PC gamers.

Many of you have been asking when you can pre-load Dragon Age 2 onto your machines. Pre-loading happens with digital versions of DA2 and is installing the game so it is ready to play once the unlock time arrives. Pre-loading is not available from all retailers. Check with your retailer to see if they offer pre-loading. You have also been asking when the game will unlock so you can start playing, which applies to digital and retail PC copies. These pertain to PC versions and not to console versions of Dragon Age 2.

Pre-Loading is based on the region you live in. Pre-loading of digital versions begins at the following times:

• Asia/Pacific region – 18:00 GMT on March 4th
• Canada & United States – 18:00 GMT on March 4th
• Russian Federation - 18:00 GMT on March 4th
• Western Europe – 10:00 GMT March 7th
• Australia & New Zealand – 09:00 GMT on March 8th
• Central and South America - 10:00 GMT on March 8th
• Eastern Europe  – 10:00 GMT March 8th
• Great Britain & Ireland – 10:00 GMT on March 8th

Unlocking is based on the official game release date for the region you live in. The PC versions, both digital and retail, will unlock beginning at the following times:

• Asia/Pacific region – 0000h on March 8th
• Canada & United States – 0000h on March 8th
• Russian Federation - 0200h on March 8th
• Western Europe – 0000h on March 10th
• Australia & New Zealand – 0000h March 9th
• Central and South America - 1700h March 10th
• Eastern Europe  – 0000h March 11th
• Great Britain & Ireland – 0000h March 11th

Honestly the giddy starts to drive you insane after the first 48 hrs .... I mean having it on the 4th and not being able to play until 4 days later thats like having the game in your hands but somone says no..... cant open it up gah!

Hmm, interesting. So, in Australia, it unlocks a day before it hits the stores. (9th Vs the 10th)

So for ps3 and xbox users im assuming we just get on the day, because it doesnt need preloading, but if it arrives a day early we can technically play it because it doesnt need unlocking?

If somehow you coerce the retailer into selling you it, yes, they can't content lock it.

i am PISSED. i live in montreal (east coast) and when awakening came out, i bought it on D2D, and i had to wait will 12:00PM for it to unlock, where if i would of went to a store, i would of gotten it at 10. so now, i pre ordered it at the store ( in december, so SE) and i find out on D2D i would of gotten it at MIDNIGHT!??? R U SERIOUS!?

i guess i did something evil and this is karma... FUDGE.

I'd feel as though I missed part of the game, or I'd always have the nagging feeling that the retail game had something I did not,

Britain unlocking a day >behind< Western Europe? Is this set in stone?
Thanks for the info though, I get free internet at night so a preload was something I've been wondering about for a while

Huh, so the Western Europe official release has become Thursday instead of Friday now? Hope this will be the new standard for every release.
Though, most stores here usually started selling new games on Thursday already anyway.....so, no real change.

Wonder why it's still Friday for the UK, as I tend to order from UK-based online retailers due to cheapness.

Hmm, assuming pre-loading counts for EA downloader. Website is bugging out on me atm, so can't check my account. D: I checked earlier today and didn't see anything regarding allowing pre-downloading. Guess I will see tommorow. Thanks a bunch Bioware though. Pre-loading is a lifesaver.

Nvm, found this on EA forums:
"Everyone rest assured, if you got the pre-order confirmation email, the game will be visible in EADM starting tomorrow around 4:00pm PST. "

March 8 for Russia and Asia?! Does it mean when I'm in Kazakhstan I'll get it on the 8th?! OMG EXCITE.

EA informed me that those that ordered via EA site will get an email informing them of when to download. As of now they aren't letting anyone download tomorrow. They also told me that it would be two days before release date to which I said so it's on a Sunday? Then they said we have no official date. Methinks someone needs to get EA some handouts on how to answer these questions lol.
