You can't go beyond medium if you don't have DX11 supported GPU.

The high-res textures aren't in the game yet, but will be in a release-day patch according to Bioware... was in a post here somewhere yesterday.

There seems to be a discrepancy here for me. D2D lists my unlock time as 3/8/11 13:00 PST. Which is, obviously, several hours off.

I have yet to have an option to pre-load DA2 on the US Steam.  Can anyone confirm/deny this has happened to them as well?

Edit:  Well I didn't until I logged off and logged back in to Steam.  Duh.  If anyone else is having this problem I would suggest doing the same.

@ Moderators/Admin: May be a good time to start a 'DA2 Tech Support' forum. I ordered thru EA, just got the 'download the pre-load' email. Downloaded with EA Download Manager and installed (didn't install how I wanted it to but it's no big thing). Started the 'Launcher', clicked the 'Configuration' utility, and the CU disabled my antivirus and firewall programs. So I uninstalled, with EADM, made sure all folders/files/remnants were deleted, and started again (just in case something glitched during the download/install process). Started 'Launcher', click Config Util, same thing happens again. Antivirus and firewall programs disabled again. Totally UnSat!! Anyone else have this happen??

As far as I'm aware, nobody who preordered SE in Russia through EA Store can pre-load it yet. It's not in orders list, not in games list, and EA support says it'll be available on 11th.
Other e-shops allow pre-load, but no keys yet.

  It appears that BW sets suggested dates/times (as in 'Suggested Retail Price') then it's up to the retailers to do what they will.

I got mine through EA and see a 003 launch time? Does anyone know if this is correct or will it actually be available at 000? I could have sworn I saw Steam was getting it at the strike of midnight, so why not from EA?

Well seeing it was once saying March 10th at 1800, yes they could easily change it.

sorry if this has been asked but will PC box copys be unlocked when i pick it up at gamestop at midnight it will take me less then 10 minutes to walk home lol i want to play lmao

Just got back for another round of EA customer support. He said that those who pre-ordered Signature Edition through EA Store Russia will have it available for pre-load on the night between 7th and 8th, at 00.00 GMT, and the game will unlock for play at 10.00 GMT on 8th. If you didn't pay for it yet, you'll be charged at the moment the game is up for pre-load.

Some clarity, finally. Still, just a 10 hours window for pre-loading a game? My connection isn't that fast.

Mine says the same, and is also from EA. Hoping it is rectified. More specifically, I live in USA, and am told 0300 hours on March 8th is my unlock time when running the Release Date Checker. As I live in CST, that doesn't correspond to 0000 in ANY timezone in the US. 

Also, for the people who are unable to select higher textures, I've noticed they're the ones with the ~5 GB installs. A Bioware poster said there would be a seperate download for a texture pack that can be downloaded from this site. My install was the 6.something GB install, and was able to select Very High in the configuration menu, so I'm assuming that texture pack is for the smaller installs. I'm further guessing that the smaller installs was an option they gave retailers who were cheap with their bandwidth.

And, lastly, I'm not really sure what the requirements are for the textures. I mean, I can change the configuration to DirectX 9 and still have the option to select "Very High" textures.

As I am preloading right now, this information is clearly wrong. I hope they'll be some bug too for the unlock time so I can play it as soon as all other around the world.

Why I'm not surprised it's Asia (ie China and Japon), USA and Russian federation that are supposed to get it sooner?

And I notice that Africa is a whole continent that have disapeared, whooo didin't knew that I should put more care when listening the daaily news.

Sure they'll put in jail Steam.  I'd be curious to see that. Steam make EA win a ton of money thanks to Steam art of selling games, last year Steam made 1 Billion from only the top ten Steam sells, I doubt EA is able to learn anything to Steam to manage games download.

Shouldnt it be at 0000 March 08? I'm from singapore. So much for the Preload Now. Play it first crap. Why would anyone preload if everyone else can get the retail box earlier from shops?

The time can and will be changed and even if Joe Blow went to a store and bought the PC physical box he would still have to wait. If he got it on the console yeah he would play before the PC version. Assuming the Release control time is not changed.
