Is it going to make me rant about suing and false advertising and all that? No. Is it disappointing? Yes. There's a reason the saying is 'the straw that broke the camel's back' and not 'hey, that huge two ton beam that broke the camel's back'. I'm not even saying this is the last straw, because it isn't. But little things do add up and have an influence on your perception of a company over time. It's just bad business sense to fail to mention that by 'midnight' they meant 'midnight PST'. There's other time zones in the US and someone did bring up...we don't go in the US "Look, we can't celebrate the New Years until it hits midnight in California." Why? Because we recognize we have different time zones. These things are normally clarified, it wasn't, and now people who have things they DO have to do tomorrow on the east coast will only be able to barely see more than what the demo let them see. People wanting to riot in the streets is silly. But those who got their hopes up and are simply disappointed aren't being irrational for it.

They should unlock it Bioware time (i.e., 12 am MST). Since it's being unlocked 1 am my time, I think I'm basically gonna end up creating my character and then go to zzzz..... being that I am employed and have a job to go to in the morning. lol Damn you, job! How dare you interrupt my gaming schedule!

Last time I do a Steam purchase on a new game. Steam is awesome for mid summer cheapy sales, but have lost me as a customer forever on full price new games.

I could buy the game at Walmart or midnight sale for 4 bucks cheaper and play it, rather than waiting their unlock time.

Mostly I just have no use for a new game purchase from them, when not only does is unlock later, but they are also slower for patches and nitpicky installs of mods. It is a good service for buy year old games for 9 bucks.

yeh tempter tantrum, hehe first time I ever bought a new game on steam.

Bioware... I have to say you guys have blown it. I just returned from my local gamestop Midnight launch, have the game installed as of 12:25, my dlc downloaded, AND I CAN'T EVEN PLAY THE GAME UNTIL 3am EASTERN TIME. DRM and securom bs like this is why many gamers have turned away from PC. I spent my whole night looking forward to this and I can't even play it.

I absolutely love Bioware's Games but I can't help but feel like you are treating your fans like criminals.

Please learn from this mistake. And now to take a nap until the game unlocks.

This is stupid. I just came back from the midnight release at my local store and I am told that I have to wait until 3am eastern standard time to play the game. I'm not really sure what the point of this is. I can understand why they did it with WoW, but why do they need to do it with a single player campaign? They are concerned about people on the east coast getting to see the game first? The end effect is that since we can not play it until 3am on the east coast we have to wait until the next day to play the game and therefore people out west get to play it several hours before we do. Its misleading to have midnight launches where they do not diclose that the game will not be playable for another three hours. I could have just picked it up the next day, instead I am left feeling poorly treated by Bioware.

Unlocking is based on the official game release date for the region you live in. The PC versions, both digital and retail, will unlock beginning at the following times:

• Canada & United States – 0000h on March 8

B.S.  It's 00:35 and securom says it won't unlock until 03:00. 

Someone doesn't have their information straight.

This is my last EA preorder, this crap happens every damn time.

WTH, even legit bought games don't unlock until 3am? Is every DA2 game tied to Steam or something, or is that just their aunthentication server no unlocking any pc game until 3am?

Annoying, the sticky post led me to believe everything unlocked at midnight, and i was impressed they finally realized the world didn't revolve around the Caifornia time clock.

Ditto, I'm a little po'ed myself. Might as well just wait until tomorrow to play at this point. So seriously, WTH is up with having it centralized on Pacific time? Should be localized time... I should just go load up my roomies Xbox360 copy.

It should be time zone specific. Or at least do eastern time to give people the benefit of the doubt. Most people wanting to play at that time preordered or waited at a retailer til midnight. Come on give some props to your supporters instead of giving them the finger.

Now what ? I'm in Singapore and the Steam told me to wait for 1 days and 11 hours ? I've wait through the night to wait for this game to be unlocked and this is what I receive ? Something wrong with the unlocking time announcement ... The game should be unlocked at 0800 for Asia, right ?
