Same situation as everyone here.... Came back from my gamestop only to find that i can't play for the nest three hours. It's so dumb that they wouldn't warn us that it wasn't going to be midnight for everyone. What's dumber is that gamestops and lots of other places had the midnight release. BioWare, you got fans that come pick up your games a midnight during the MIDDLE OF THE WEEK, and you can't even offer them a few hours of game play to calm down the excitement of having a new amazing game in their hands.

I napped during the middle of the day just so I could stay up a bit later than my usual and play a bit, and still be fresh for work in the morning.

Now what do I do . I'm just disappointed and not tired anymore since I slept earlier hahaha.

my roommate told me how jealous he was that I got to play dragon age 3 hours earlier than him cause he got it on steam and you have taken that away from me!

Looks like ill play after my exam tomorrow. Still stupid u can drive and buy a game and cant physically play it.

Only an MBA could possibly think this was a good strategy. According to Google Answers (from 2005) 83% of the US population lives east of the Pacific time zone. So if you announce the game is available at midnight most people will think what? Almost half (48%) of the US population lives in EST. Way to ****** off your paying customers.

I really like you Bioware guys, just can't figure out how you miss such obvious things as a midnight sale in New York, but not allowing the game to unlock until it is sold in San Francisco. People love your games, they stay up and go to a store in the middle of the night, and then can't even play the darn game when they get home............unless they have a 3 hour drive back from the store.

I've heard tales of Asian Steam users finding success by putting their Steam-supplied CD keys into EADM. Try that, maybe.

Can anyone even imagine the reason why they put different release dates (wich are by themselves pretty much random) for different locations? Even for DIGITAL releases.

Screw that Bioware knows that there is midnights everywhere in THE USA especially at gamestops. People show up to get there game and play it immediatley nobody pirated it from a store they BOUGHT IT!

This is ridiculous. I really wish I had known about this region restriction ahead of time. I had someone go out of their way to drive me to the GameStop for the midnight release, wait there for an hour for me to get out of there, and now I feel bad having to explain to them why I'm not diving right into the game.

I understand you guys want to protect your product, but this is ridiculous. I've been more active in keeping up to date on DA2 info than the average player and I heard nothing about this. I honestly would have let that poor person just go to sleep if I had known that I wouldn't be able to play the game right away anyway.

Those aren't laws, they are agreements. The agreement says that they can't sell a game early. They abide by those agreements........hence the midnight sales in your time zone.

Problems happened when they won't release the game to actually work until midnight their timezone, which has nothing to do with laws or agreements, its just easier to set one release time for their aunthenication servers. It was ease of programming time, or an honest mistake, but nothing to do with laws.

You ever been to a midnight movie release? THey don't sell you the ticket at midnight, then make you wait until California time to start the movie rolling.

This post clearly states the time the game will unlock based on your region. For the U.S. it says 0000h on March 8th.

What the post does not specifically mention is what the word region means. Apparently the whole U.S. lives on the west side of the country and uses PST. Why did we have to wait to buy it at midnight on March 8th if we couldn't even play it until 3am EST. They could have sold it a week ago and saved us all the midnight trip in subfreezing temperatures just to get home and be utterly disappointed. This is they type of stupidity I would expect from Bathesda, but I never would have expected it from Bioware. I have totally changed my opinion of Bioware now, not in a good way.

The thing is, I don't think that steam has even given me my CD keys yet. I got the game as a gift though so could that be the problem? If not where can I find the keys?
