Would have been nice if they'd told me I'd have had to wait until midnight....on the WEST COAST! I'm in the bloody eastern time zone. Got my game at midnight, eastern, and can't do squat with it until 0300. I am NOT happy. Posted ImagePosted Image

By all means unlock it when the clock strikes midnight in whatever time zone you happen to live in, but why the hell should the fact I live in the UK mean I have to wait the best part of 3 days, when Canada, the US and Russia already have it?

Sure, that's fair. The fact that I live in Ripoff Britain I probably already paid more than the Canadians, Americans and Russians for the game notwithstanding, I come home from a long slogging nightshift hoping to get kicked off with the game only to find the goalposts have been moved so I gotta wait another 2 days...

Thanks a lot, EAWare. Remind me to give pre-ordering the bird in future...

BioWare is not responsible for the laws retailers must abide by.

Those aren't laws, they are agreements. The agreement says that they can't sell a game early. They abide by those agreements........hence the midnight sales in your time zone.

Problems happened when they won't release the game to actually work until midnight their timezone, which has nothing to do with laws or agreements, its just easier to set one release time for their aunthenication servers. It was ease of programming time, or an honest mistake, but nothing to do with laws.

You ever been to a midnight movie release? THey don't sell you the ticket at midnight, then make you wait until California time to start the movie rolling.

I'd think it would be easier to have a staggered release time so there's not as much stress on the authentication server.

The thing is, I don't think that steam has even given me my CD keys yet. I got the game as a gift though so could that be the problem? If not where can I find the keys? :(

Mate u have to select DA2 on ur library of game and on the right side select CD key. Hope this helps.

I find this to be a bit silly. I drive down to the store, pick up my pre-order, get everything installed and can't play till 3am? I knew I should have just saved my money for more ME2 DLC...

i'd really like to hear bioware explain this one... c'mon, guys... the release date post was misleading and didn't mention anything about PST. like many others, i went to the trouble to preorder, drive out to gamestop, wait in line...
the fact of the matter is that it is just bad business to advertise a midnight release for a game that isn't active til 3 hours later. most of us have jobs and simply cannot afford to wait til 3am to start up our game. ugggggggghhhhh...

>.< really, *****
SO why did I waste time picking up early at midnite when i have to wait 3hrs. I suppose had I known about this little feature ahead of time I wouldve been ok. Now my 'new game hype' gets gut-punched out of the blue and I have a few hrs to kill -.-
grr

Agreed, many times over. I just hope that they learn from this experience and at least inform people ahead of time if they're going to pull a stunt like this.

An apology would indicate that they did something wrong. Not an admission you're likely to see.Posted Image

WTF Bioware. I stood in line right next to the xbox buyers to get my version on PC. Now they are at home 1 hour into thier game, and I have to wait another 2 just to start? WTF kind of midnight release is that?

No doubt, on top of this fiasco, I'm gonna be really mad if tomorrow, I am met with time outs and errors because everyone is trying to aunthenticate and download the DLC at once.  What the hell were Bioware/EA thinking.

This is crazy - why did I wait half an hour at Gamestop just to be stonewalled by Sony's F***ing DRM software. I'm going to stop buying EA / Sony / Bioware games if they don't stop treating all their customers like potential and probable thieves. Too bad - I was really looking forward to this game and now I'm a bit sour on it.

It really is unfortunate - my brother bought this for my birthday after encouraging me to make a Steam account and making me promise I'd stay up late to play it before I go to sleep - but I'm on EST. I don't have the heart to disappoint him after so generous a gift, so I think that the attorney I work for tomorrow might see some sloppy paralegal work.

I find it interesting that some posts criticize the frustrations of those who bought the game and can't even play it. No one thinks that this is an earth-ending event; it's just disappointing. Venting is a healthy way to release those frustrations. Come a week from now, very few will remember their irritation at being stymied -- but I believe more will remember the poor behavior of some on the forums (not just this thread).

Wow, I didn't know I would have to buy a console to play this game at a decent time. Shaft for the pc users.

This does kinda void the entire point of a midnight release. Glad i went out in the snow for absolutely nothing. Not to mention wasted my time preordering at gamestop- for a DLC item that is Xbox and ps3 only. Good times.

Quoted for emphasis.
