Hi Dragon Age 2 PC gamers.
Many of you have been asking when you can pre-load Dragon Age 2 onto your machines. Pre-loading happens with digital versions of DA2 and is installing the game so it is ready to play once the unlock time arrives. Pre-loading is not available from all retailers. Check with your retailer to see if they offer pre-loading. You have also been asking when the game will unlock so you can start playing, which applies to digital and retail PC copies. These pertain to PC versions and not to console versions of Dragon Age 2.
Pre-Loading is based on the region you live in. Pre-loading of digital versions begins at the following times:Unlocking is based on the official game release date for the region you live in. The PC versions, both digital and retail, will unlock beginning at the following times:
- Asia/Pacific region – 18:00 GMT on March 4th
- Canada & United States – 18:00 GMT on March 4th
- Russian Federation - 18:00 GMT on March 4th
- Western Europe – 10:00 GMT March 7th
- Australia & New Zealand – 09:00 GMT on March 8th
- Central and South America - 10:00 GMT on March 8th
- Eastern Europe – 10:00 GMT March 8th
- Great Britain & Ireland – 10:00 GMT on March 8th
Get ready, Dragon Age 2 is almost here.
- Asia/Pacific region – 0000h on March 8th
- Canada & United States – 0000h on March 8th
- Russian Federation - 0200h on March 8th
- Western Europe – 0000h on March 10th
- Australia & New Zealand – 0000h March 9th
- Central and South America - 1700h March 10th
- Eastern Europe – 0000h March 11th
- Great Britain & Ireland – 0000h March 11th

This all could have been avoided so easily. First, tell all the PC customers that this would happen. Second, allow PC users to buy the game a day early, since we can play it until 3am anyways what does it matter when we get it. Third, refer to the first step.
The post about the release times from the developers was obviously misleading. All they would have had to do is simply put the letters "PST" next to the release time and this would all have been a non-issue. Either someone majorly screwed up and should lose their job or Bioware/EA purposely scammed PC users as the time check does not apply to Xbox or PS3.

This does kinda void the entire point of a midnight release. Glad i went out in the snow for absolutely nothing. Not to mention wasted my time preordering at gamestop- for a DLC item that is Xbox and ps3 only. Good times.
I dont remember console only content???
"Thanks for Preordering Dragon age 2 for PC or Xb360 : Your registration code is : XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Please visit Gamestop.com/code for registration and ingame content."
Went to website. The pulldown menu for DA:II only as Xbox360 and Ps3. Was supposed to be all platforms. Don't really blame the local gamestop- i mean if they were told whatever- and dont really blame Bioware- but somethings amiss. Honestly, it just adds to the disapointment.
I had the same problem, but I just entered the code on the receipt using my Bioware Social Accout and it opened up the Sword and Board for me. You might have to try a couple times though, server was a bit twitchy.

OK, someone explain this to me please...nicely...why is this limited to pc users? Although I roughly understand the concept of DRM, why doesn't it apply to console users as well? I'm penalised because I use a pc to play my games?
we're all hackers, remember?

Yeap your exactly right. But atleast in the end you will have a much better gaming experience. That is if you have the computer for it
If you have a DirectX 11 capable card, make sure you get the High-Res texture pack. Its an additional 1gb so might as well get started and download that now.
