To be fair, they did say that it would be released on PST. Only it's buried in the middle of this thread and nowhere else.

Like the fine print on a pill bottle, that says you could possibly die if you take the pill without eating...

I am staying up as well!

Btw anyone who has Dead Space 2 on Steam manage to get the promo code to unlock Sir Issac's Armor ? How do you get that code? I downloaded EADM and everything is associated with my bioware/ea account. But it does not show up in my entitlement page:

I love the camaraderie we're building here... my best friend once told me, "you know, one good thing about the Blight is how it brings people together." :-D

Can I consider that a threat on my life?

Well, I played the demo... so I'm going to go with a resounding yes Posted Image

OK, someone explain this to me please...nicely...why is this limited to pc users? Although I roughly understand the concept of DRM, why doesn't it apply to console users as well? I'm penalised because I use a pc to play my games?

we're all hackers, remember?

Apparently.

Since I have the TIME seeing as how I can't play a game I PAID for I went over to my Guild chat in Team Speak and turns out one guy found a HACK on some site. So that's right the DRM did sqwat to stop Pirates but mean while it's punishing us for having PAID for the game.

BTW my guild mate bought the game the crack just gets around the DRM. I won't use it because I don't want to mess up my DLC. I told him as much and thus didn't find out what site he used so don't ask as I don't know.

The point remains all DRM is crap which just punishes us PAYING customers.

The Australian digital release has been royally cocked up. Steam pre-loaded but won't let me play for another almost two days. And the EADM (you just throw your Steam code in there and it works - I didn't buy the game twice!) is saying the game is unreleased and won't even let me download it.

So much for "0000h March 9th". ...? Can we at least get some kind of official saying what's up? I wouldn't have bothered with all these bloody downloads if I knew waiting and walking into a store tomorrow morning before Uni would have let me play the game way sooner. =/

I can't believe I stayed up and went to the midnight release, hoping for a few minutes of character creation before I had to go to sleep since I have to get up in 4 hours, only to have the game tell me I can't play yet because I'm in the wrong time zone. I love you Bioware, but this is really upsetting. I was so excited and now I'm really bummed and angry. :(

That is always how it goes. The legit buyers are the ones who will obey the rules. The pirates are more and craftier than any defense program. They will cheat, and get it anyway. This crap only hurts purchasers of the game.

Thats how it goes. Computers cost three tmes what an xbox and ps3 cost. The games often cost more. And here we are getting the rub. Come on. This is the US! Those with money are supposed to get preferencial treatment! Get with the program bioware!

Indeed and yet these companies still don't get it. They just keep making more DRM that is cracked within an hour or so. Pirates have their fun, legit paying customers get screwed and have to wait, such fun this cycle is... <_<

Quote for Great Australian / Asian justice.

We're looking at just under FORTY-EIGHT hours of wait time after our 'expected'  release.
Any information, at all?

Seriously right? It's not like the consoles where you *might* have to buy a better television. We already have to pay to upgrade our computers to play these games. Then cough up the dosh to buy said game. THEN we get screwed on this DRM crap.

This all could have been avoided so easily. First, tell all the PC customers that this would happen. Second, allow PC users to buy the game a day early, since we can play it until 3am anyways what does it matter when we get it. Third, refer to the first step.

The post about the release times from the developers was obviously misleading. All they would have had to do is simply put the letters "PST" next to the release time and this would all have been a non-issue. Either someone majorly screwed up and should lose their job or Bioware/EA purposely scammed PC users as the time check does not apply to Xbox or PS3.

Calling for someone to lose their job over this is the height of absurdity. Bioware has made quality products and continues to deliver.

I think many people are frustruated but turning on Bioware for a trivial matter such as this is totally unjustified.

And they are merely working within an existing system. Many games go through this process nowadays. The industry will come up with a solution. Not one studio by itself. Or perhaps a studio could set the standard.

1hr 35 min to go!

I don't think they mean a dev should lose his job. More like a marketing puke or the guy doing the aunthentication server that forgot that the entire world isn't on California PST. Or maybe just the guy who wrote the code to aunthenticate every game except pc games. I don't think this is as deep as some game company setting a trend in the industry to recognize something as simple as time zones.

Seriously, no one should lose thier job:) That is silly.
