So although I got the game installed and registered I will have to wait until the 11th to play the game.
Also good to know that Israel is located in Eastern Europe.

Bioware sure works in mysterious ways.

Israel is located in vaguely the same time zone as parts of Eastern Europe, just like Australia is a hell of a long way from Japan but my home is in the same time zone as Tokyo.

i have found that steam, is great. if you have a copy of proxifier, a socks5 relay, and an account with a VPN provider like your-freedom.de ....

(it doesn't even need to be paid VPN access, but it will help if you want to buy software via the US or UK / EU storefronts.)

it takes as much effort or time as it does to download the 1gb HD texture pack or the DLC from the bioware site. i.e. about 6 minutes with a PC/mac reboot.

1 day 9 hour wait to play, vs free software that will 'unlock' DA2,
and allow me to buy it with a $30 discount from the australian steam store ?

yeah. easy choice.

i don't blame bioware much, but it's really starting to show how flawed their relationship to EA has become with this kind of malfeasance and ridicule of customers. EA is starting to really become annoying with their marketing dickishness, almost to the level of activision's.

11 hours left according to Steam ... should I be worried, because the Bioware post says it is unlocked on 11th March?

I now have 14 hours to kill while pirates are happily playing the game, Yay justice.
And when it finally unlocks it will be 3 am in the morning and I need to be on the plane at 10.55. This is the last time I am paying to play anything that has budget bigger than 10 dollars.

A little heads-up for people who purchased the game from Direct2Drive.co.uk. If you go to the "My Games" tab and click "Download" on both the "Signature Edition" and "Signature Edition Bonus" options they'll e-mail you all the required codes plus the actual CD-key. Which means you can play at March 10th (or earlier if you use a proxy/VPN).

Ekyri I sort of understand you. I know a release date is a release date but well that hardly helps if you have the game right nax to you and it still takes around 11 and a half hour till midnight, not to mention if all works smoothly than. *mumbles*

Fun fun, got my copy a day early, and can't play. Was it EA or BW that came up with this idea to lock the game 'til release date? They can take their game and shove it up somewhere if they keep doing this with their releases. I'm a paying customer, when I get my game, I'm supposed to be able to play it right away. This is probably EA's idea...crappiest company after Microsoft. Damn, this is making me a bit upset :(

Unlocking DA2 is easy if you own retail (PM me if you don't know how). Steam is way bigger problem though.

The fun thing is, that Ubisoft finally sees how faulty this policy is, and patches the DRM crap out of their games. Now EA happily hops into the bandwagon what is heading towards a gorge with full speed.

AC:B comes without their infamous DRM next week with extras to the PC, yay for that.

I feel sorry for Bioware, the worst move they've ever made was parterning up with EA :(

Thumbs up for Ubisoft, at least they make their releases more friendly.

The best thing about these diferent release dates is that my friend is already playing it on a pirate version, while me who actually worried to buy the game can't. until tomorrow.

Makes me wonder why bother

That sounds like more of account issue than a unlock. You need to be on an administrator account on Win7 or vista for it to work

Which windows version?

Win 7? Right click on game icon, choose "Run as administrator".

Try that.

Its window 7 yes, i have ran as administrator. I ended up installing the game on my other computer, and when i got to the time unlock window it asked me to log into my account and it worked, but on this computer it didn't let me log into my account, so I'm thinking for some reason its logging into a guest account each time i start it up. Is there anyway you guys know how to reset that?

I agree to lcchiarello. We pay the price they ask and still have to wait almost two days to play while people who have pirated copy are playing since the day 8/3... so they want to combat piracy? You gotta be kidding.
