Now before anyone says it I know that dragon age 2 is not even released yet. i'm just wondering if you think bioware will be giving dragon age 2 an awakening like expansion with a good few extra hours gameplay, story etc...and not just small hour-2 hour long dlcs. i really hope so anyway.
what are your thoughts?

I pray so, but I heard that it isn't likely.

Well, from the reviews and notes about the ending it seems more than likely. Either an expansion or they'll sell the rest of the game in DLC. Kaching!

I really doubt it. There will be plenty of short DLCs though.

I'd like an expansion to take over the world, of course! You could even have different expansions for different countries.

Actually I think they said longer DLC's, but nothing quite as large as Awakening.

RDR Undead Nightmare is proof that add ons can be profitable in todays market if done correctly. I hope Bioware isnt ruling it out completely.

Hey, so i'm going to go ahead and necro this thread. Sound good? Good.

I loved Awakening, and would very much enjoy an expansion to DA2 instead of a bunch of scattered DLC, that being said DLC and an expansion would be great too.

Best. Addon. Ever. I don't think a DLC has had more commercials on TV than the original game before.

If they do an expansion that continues the story like Awakening, then I say go for it, but if its just to fill in the ten years in Hawke's life at Kirkwall, screw it.

I'd love an expansion that returns to Origins's multi-race system. Either that, or give me a Qunari protagonist.

I am so jonesing to play as a Qunari warrior. Sten laid the kindling, and the Arishok lit the fire.

Yeah, I've had enough of that city to be honest. They better make new locations for whatever they come up with, otherwise it's going to look sad for them after so many complaints.

The last expansion was $40 and about 10% of the original game...

They might charge $50 this time for half the size of Awakening

I'd like an expansion, but I'd be happy with 2 very quality post-campaign DLC installations, much like the Mass Effect 2 format has been in this regard. I don't want DLC if it's going to pumped out in the same air as Origin's DLC.

An expansion seems less and less likely to be a part of Bioware's devoted budget with how the reviews are coming in. I, and they too, probably think it would be a better idea to wrap up DA2 as quickly as possible and move onto a clean slate to improve upon DA2 and fix what wasn't broken. That's my take anyway, though, like I said... I always welcome more content if it's original content... i.e. not recycled.

Go the Assassin's Creed 2: Brotherhood route.

Continue the story as a game length addition that makes up for a disappointing finale. Seriously, did you guys ever beat Assassin's Creed 2?

Here's the 20 second play-through: this game is so much better than the first one, I like my PC a lot, he's funny. Oh, now we're going after the bad guy. And now here's a fist fight where we're both invincible and it doesn't seem to end. Oh, now it's over....and we don't kill him? And now it's over?

Then you take the disk out of your machine and sigh. To be so great all the way up to the ending and then completely fumbling it in the red zone.

So, yeah. An add-on that continues the story where we left off. The DA universe is in an interesting place at the end of DA2. Now make an interesting game out of that, please.

I'm hoping for an AC:B-route expansion too. I loved DA2, bu the ending was so disappointing, nothing really felt resolved.
