Steal the Song Book if you are skilled enough

Do you happen to know what skill and skill level is needed to steal the book without being caught?  I assume the skill level check is against the main character as Leliana is in my party with master stealing and device mastery.  My main is a warrior with only 1 level of stealing.

When I tried I had that female keeper assistant interrupt me with some dialog perhap high coercion and cunning. Or perhaps stealth and lock picking. I don't know for sure as I failed the coercion and didn't have a stealth lock picker. You get the book if you resolve the forest arc a certain way. So presumably you could return to the hermit with it after that arc is complete if the dalish are still there.

I would say buying any silver ring back from a vendor you sold one to to trade for the helm or boots is easy enough. As long as you don't kill him, he'll be there.

1. There is a book in the chest behind Zathrian and Lanaya (no skills required but try to open 3 times because 1 and 2nd time Lanaya will say you betrayed them, then ask you why your looking in the chest and 3rd time your able to take loot, the book.

End Result: Song Book

2. Athras - Complete the quest Lost to the Curse and at the end he will give you an items. You don't have to trade the scarf to the Hermit because for bringing the scarf he gives you an item but I have to redo the quest because can't recall what it is he gives you. I'll update a little later with exact item.

3. Cammen's Lament - you can do one of two things but will need a little cunning/persuasion. A) Talk to Cammen if you have a wolf pelt and give it to him, then he'll pretend that he killed the wolf or  Tell him you'll talk to Gheyna and convince her that if she loves and believes in Cammen that is all that is needed.

End result: The Tale of Iloren (a book you can trade to the Hermit)

4. Elora's Halla - if your Survival Skill is high enough you can examine or try to calm the Halla. If your like myself, mine was not high enough so I (Pretended) then used persuasion and told her that the animal is suffering. She will kill the halla and give you the horns. Take the horns to Varathorn and tell him Elora asked you to give to him,. In return he will make a Halla Horn.

End Result: Halla Horn

You can actually have both the scarf and Athras's amulet to trade to the Hermit. You can tell Athras his wife is dead without giving him back the scarf and if you follow the right dialog options he'll give you the amulet.
