Something that I thought would be a great addition to ME3, before starting a mission, we get a "mission prep" overview of what type of enemies we should expect so that we can adequately prepare for the fight ahead instead of going in dark.
And maybe include in the codex pages some blurbs on enemy defense. For example, Collectors carry armor and barriers, use of smg's, sniper rifles, warp and/or warp ammo recommended etc. This would force the player to research and read up on enemies during the game, which I think is a nice touch immersion wise.
I want to be informed of the enemies I may face in the mission I partake in before I choose my weapons and squadmates, so that I have a strong chance at winning when I touch down.
But if its the first time you encounter the enemy type, fine, dont show what's ahead BUT if we have encountered the enemy beforehand, the mission prep should tell us to expect this type of enemy in the upcoming mission.
Give the player some intel on enemies and their defenses beforehand.
