Obviously mid-expression means nothing to anyone still complaining about the screen.

I did not like Zevran in Origins....don't see me liking him in the 2nd game.  He just overall seemed like an ass.
But is that legit?  Does he make a cameo apperance?

Poor Zev.

Not too big a fan of the "Na'vified" Elves. Inexplicable change in artstyle, for the worse.

What's more, since elves nowadays eschew shoes, has nuZev forgotten all about his beloved Antivan leather boots?

Yes. We don't know what your save import has to be like for it to happen, but under some conditions at least, he will indeed appear.

*GASP* Oh my god, I can't believe how much I care about this! (and I'm not being sarcastic) I really liked Zevran's quest and his storyline really touched me. Do Elves not wear shoes in 2?

I think the new elfified Zev looks pretty much what I would've expected. The elf redesign was pretty radical considering the elves in Origins were just slim humans, with human-shaped jaws and noses.
I think it's awesome to see him updated and I'm willing to guess the screenshot caught him mid-expression. I know the chances are slim to none but it would be so awesome if Hawke could flirt with him or something. xD Then again in my Origins game Zev was madly in love with my City Elf... So... I don't know how I should react if Zev went for Hawke guns blazin'!  Then again, I could see him totally doing that, haha.

I wonder how many years down the story this scene happens. Zevran looked like he was somewhere in his early or mid-thirties in Origins, so I can understand he looks a bit... Weary. I personally just find it attractive.

I didn't use him much in DAO, but I enjoyed his lines and I thought he looked pretty good; hard, like a city elf that had gnawed and fought his way to the top of his game and kept his sardonic wit about him.

The new Zev looks soft; noble pretty boy elf out for a stroll..oh look, something blue. He doesn't look like an assassin. He looks like he does hair and makeup for a reality show. Didn't think he would pop up for a cameo...but this makes me sad.

I didn't think elves lost their eyebrows in their redesign. Plus, he looks all... woll smoth.

This will definitely be the first thing I'll mod, if this isn't just the worst possible angle and pose imaginable. Poor Zevran ):

That's scary. Makes me wonder about other carryover characters and how they'll compare. Between this and Merrill, it looks like the differences will be pretty major.

If that's him...yeah, that's an unflattering angle. :P I swear, people somehow manage to capture the most unflattering screenshots possible of characters. *facepalm* From this shot...yeah, that doesn't look good. I'm assuming with different lighting it might not be so bad. *fingers crossed*

how can that be da2, the graphics look worse than origins?

edit: where's his tanned skin, tattoo and wrinkles?

Oh i see his tattoo... what a letdown. I'm glad the other companions aren't coming back.

The elves look so generic and snobby now. I hope we have an option to feed them to a giant slug and burn their sacred tree like in Overlord

LoL. He looks -horrible-

This makes me rethink a warden cameo.

I don't know if i'd appreciate my city elf warden coming back to look like she's been riding the short bus.

I've been trying to stay away from spoilers, but I've seen at least one other carryover character that hasn't been officially announced, and s/he looked pretty much similar to his/her DA:O appearance.

I think the greatest risk of gonkification is for the folks whose entire race got ****ed around with. I don't know if we'll be seeing Sten or not, but if it happens, he might unfortunately very well share Zev's fate.

It looks like many characters in DA2 are going to have remarkable lower jaws.

Consequences of the new Art style etc. things and therefore  people have to change. As the whole physic of elves, etc. changed I would assume that things change a lot more  for non-humans then humans (e.g . Merril)

Well, I don't see where you get that "Na'viified" from -- they have had some changes, but they're for no sake 10 feet tall and blue.

I like that the elves are a bit more than humans scaled 80-90% with pointy ears. The ears was sometimes the only way to distinguish them from humans on some camera angles.

As for the topic, he doesn't look that good compared to in the first game. Another argument towards toolset so at least 50% of the playergroup can access a headmorph fix. I just hope his spirit and humor remains, or maybe he is like the templar outside the chantry in Denerim -- a product of a long-lasting lyrium addiction.

For me the elves were destinct enough and easily recognizable without pointing to their pointed ears. Personally that change was completly unnessary and probably also more to do with the overall changed art style. Qunarri on the other hand for me needed at least a slight adjustment.
Would have prefered the Merril of DA:O over the DA2 Merril ... from the few pictures I have seen and they would still be destinct enough. Don't want to imagine how my Elven Archer Warden would look like in DA2.

But then these are personal opinions and I'd guess we would never agree on there. .. But as long as the majority of people either like or don't mind the changes then Bioware has a "win" situation.

It appears that the new Zev is being introduced to the world in a most Carver-like fashion.
