Second playthrough - running as Mage. Group consists of 3 DPS and sword and board warrior. Obviously, slightly less AoE output (compensated by mages), but without the incredible inconveniences associated with ridiculous AoE spikes of 2h warriors.

So far, feels somewhat easier than Warrior. But maybe that's because now I actually know what I'm doing

Finished it on nightmare for my first playthrough.

Hawke - 2H warrior just enough points in constitution to get the armor sets and everything else in strength.

Varric - A few pointsin con, rest in dex.103% crit chance woohoo!
Merril - Willpower/magic
Bethany - Willpower - then Anders - Magic, a bit of will.

I bet you were experiencing trouble with stamina, if that was the case. I found myself comfortable at 18-ish Willpower. It gave me just enough energy to pull off my full chain of offensive skills (Claymore>all 2h specials>Devour - and still had a little left for a pommel strike, if it was needed) and then have it filled again with Second Wind.

Yep, had quite a bit of stam problems, but the majority of my hawkes dmg came from auto attack crits, all of his gear had %crit/crit dmg/physical dmg.

Might always on, pop cleave, devour when needed and Mighty blow for cross class combo on assasins.

I finished my 1st playtrought with a mage force+elemental normal mode. Now i'm playing with a rogue in normal mode just to get the platinum quickly, them i'll play with a warrior hard mode... and for my Nightmare playtrought i'm thinking in playing as a healer ;P

First and second playthrough going on simultaneously, both on Nightmare difficulty, no potions allowed.

Sword/shield warrior just finished Act 1, Unstoppable achievement earned.
Mage's trucking through Act 1 at the moment.
