It means you don't wuss out and drop the difficulty to something girly like Hard.soteria wrote...
What's this about "winning" the challenge? Is it a race or something?

No thanks, I tried beating the demo on Nightmare. I failed. Miserably.
Demo Nightmare wasn't balanced.

There are other modes beside Nightmare to play on? Who knew?
Yeah, in the mid-eighties they started adding easier modes to video games. It kind of caught on.

No Potions. No Armor. Also, you can't look at the screen.

All platforms welcome, but real heroes game on PC's
Argh, good sir, your console-war trolling is largely unnecessary and already pulling me off topic. I'll give you "Mice are great" if you give me "WASD sucks", and we both agree that "Mods are king." =P But I digress...
A good many of us love to torture ourselves electronically and playing on Nightmare sounds like good times. A couple of hours into ME2 I realized the Insanity mode on PS3 wasn't locked like the first one. Restarted there and then. It should never be something that is unlocked later, honestly. Then it becomes artificial replay padding. Glad to see its gonna be open from the start.
Count me in.

For Origins, I'd say the most powerful party is clearly Tank/3 Mages, but I obviously cannot say if that will be the case in DA2.
Aveline will likely be the default/required Nightmare tank, unless Hawke gets so many more talents than other companions to make up for the lack of Aveline's spec that Tank Hawke is viable.
Do we know anything about Anders' spec? He was a Spirit Healer in Awakening; if his spec has anything to do with healing, then he would likely be the default/required healer as well. I'm not sure how I feel about these "unique" trees and their potential unbalancing of "optimal" Nightmare party compositions, but I'll wait and see for myself if they'll really skew things to such a degree.
With this in mind, I'm currently thinking Aveline/Rogue Hawke/Anders/(Merill/Bethany) or Tank Hawke/Bethany/Anders/Merill
This is all still pure speculation, of course.

I think if you played DA:O on nightmare, this one on nightmare is going to be a piece of cake. Give it a try people
That's not exactly a ringing endorsement there.
