EXPANSION PACK

Silly. An expansion pack would mean an entire new sub-campaign added onto the main one, with several additional quests/main mission sequences, new characters, new equipment and new content. Why would they bother giving you that in one package when they chop that all down into tiny pieces and feed them to you at $5-10 a piece? Enjoy that tasty one-chapter sequence for $10.

Theres more dlc coming after the arrival yea?

Maybe another appearance pack (considering Jacob, Samara and Mordin don't have alternates) I can pray for a second (Legion, Kasumi and Zaeed would be nice) and possibly a combo pack akin to the PS3 dlc for 360 users. Can't see them doing any big dlc after Arrival.

I wonder what the time zone will be when they do attack. Will it be two years after destroying the collector base. Shepard better not start getting grey hairs when the reapers do attack!

I hope they include some more casual clothing for shep in this one, maybe acquire it as part of the mission similar to Kasumi's?

Cool. If it's quality stuff like LotSB...sign me up. I just recently played that for the first time. I was totally blown away during the SB base part of it.

Nah man, if you're going to use a Metal Gear Solid sneaking suit, the only one to go with is the Snake Eater one:

If I was referencing MGS it would be the cardboard box of sneaking +10

Is it any real surprise that the leak came from France?

If its regarding Reapers, I'd rather wait till ME3 to kick their crusted metal butts.

I'm sure you won't kick anything.

The name seems to indicate that we'll be getting kicked in the butt.

Pessimist.  It's not like BioWare is averse to full expansion packs -- they released one for Dragon Age: Origins just last year.  But I will admit, the achievement list from the PS3 patch indicates a small size.

Am I the only one who thinks that might be a good thing? I mean besides dying at the beginning, we seem to own everything thrown at us. I wouldn't mind to change it up for once. ^_^

I'm not entirely sure what twidling one's balls would entail, however, I am terrified. It wont be out for a while. I want it now, but they probably planned a big announcement and tense waiting period. Just because it was prematurely discovered doesn't mean they were ready to toss it at us.

Maybe the fact that ME2 you could continue playing after the suicide mission was a hint to this.

Lair of the Shadow Broker is supposed to be played after the suicide mission, so they're just continuing the main story arc with this one I guess.

oh, dear.
I keep doing it just before... Image IPB
Wonder when overlord should be done... and this new DLC would be last then.

ME2 has so much DLC. Image IPB

I'm getting old and my eyesight is not as good as it used to be... in the ME3 trailer it looks to me that the sniper takes out a figure with a elongated head. With the speculation mill running high.... could the Arrival be in batarian space? Seems to me that the reapers need new shock troops after ME2. The batarians have a history with Earth, and batarian space is isolated outside of citadel space. By allegiance for revenge or indoctrination they would make a good allies for the reapers in ME3. Placing them in striking distance of Earth.

Hey, it's a long way from dark space, even at Reaper speed. He'll be 78, I reckon.

then why would Big BEn Sniper quote in saying "Don't know what they are or what the want"
Pretty sure if he saw a batarian he would know what it is. Likely most humans would know

Bioware: Hey, consumer! Guess what we have for you?
Consumer: Is it an expansion pack?!
Bioware: Don't be silly. Even better! It's a DLC that contains 1/50th of an expansion pack! *DLC-slap*
Consumer: Oh.. Well, at least some of the armors look nice..?
*An abysmal amount of months later*
Bioware: Hey, consuuumer! We've got something even better than last time for you!
Consumer: Really? So it's gonna be something with more than just a few guns and armor this time? An expansion pack would be especially great!
Bioware: You betcha! Here, have this DLC that's identical to the last one, but we added a few areas for you to shoot things in! Aren't we awesome?!
Consumer: ..Uh, right.. sure.. Maybe next time.
*Seven DLCs later*
Bioware: Well, hi there, little consumer buddy! Guess what we have?
Fresh-Faced Consumer: Ooh! Ooh! Is it an expansion?!
Consumer: It's another DLC..
Fresh-Faced Consumer: GAWD! Pessimist, much?

I doubt it will be the "arrival" of the Reapers that should be kept for ME3. It would be strange for people who dont buy DLC to start ME3 and all the Reapers are attacking.

It would be strange indeed. Doing the invasion in a DLC and opening ME3 with the Reaper attack already well underway would also be conssistant with the level of plot-crafting shown in ME2.

That is to say terrible.

Seriously, the plot in the last game was so barely-there-awuful that, while I had hoped we might see something better than the Reapers invading before ME3 starts (the reasons to doubt that they won't are now untenably slim), though I am very dissapointed by the prospect I am hardly suprized.

Actually, I'd prefer it if the invasion began in a ME2 DLC, ya know why? 'Cause it'd require dumbasses to buy the friggin' PREVIOUS TWO GAMES IN A TRILOGY, rather than having Bioware completely screw over the game's current fanbase from a storytelling perspective by writing the third game in a freakin' trilogy to be accessible by any putz who picks the game up. You know, kinda like what ME2 did.

How in the world would that require someone to buy ME2 and the DLC anymore than buying ME1 was required to know about the reapers in the first place?

It wouldn't. And the terrible story would remain intact.
