Sure smells like fanboy in here

The ironing is delicious.  The same people that constantly lambast all aspects of a game on a game forum and then whimper about 'censorship', 'people being mean to them', etc etc.  Get uspet when they see someone post a trivial but postiive thread rather than the usual litanty of whine threads.  The same people that if accused of being a 'troll' and getting all defensive about it have the nerve to make such comments.

I will thank them, when I have completed the game for the first time with a happy heart and smile. Though the chances of that seem pretty good right now, I'd rather wait.
What i want to thank them for right now, is the great way they communicate the thought and work process behind their product on this forum. It has made the wait and anticipation leading up to the release quite enjoyable.

I feel really sorry for fan boys who think they have a love relationship with a games company that is so very sad. They must have no one in their sad lives if they start posting crap like BW loves me and made this game to show their love. They refuse to accept the reality that This is just business of course its all about the money for BW/EA.

I recommend you actually go out and meet real people seriously this kind of stalking from afar kind of creeps me out a bit.

You do know they did this to make a truck load of cash not as a personal favour to you, seriously you do get that. Plus It will probably have as many bugs as their last three games since they have not bothered with the wonderful work of Beta testing, They will definitely not be bothered patching they seem to be to lazy with that element of making games post EA.

yes curse all these evil people who have to work for a living, nevermind if it's a job they enjoy doing and which we enjoy the results of, they don't do it for free so they must be evil. I should try that next time I go to the shops, I bet the cashier will be overwhelmed with guilt, admit that they're evil and let me take all my shopping for free

BioWare have been making quality games for a bloody long time, and while I may not agree with every aspect of every game I've so far been happy with the overall products. Jade Empire, Neverwinter Nights, Baldurs Gate, Mass Effect, Knights of the Old Republic, Dragon Age... all have their flaws but those are heavily outweighed by the good points, namely that they're a lot of fun and not in the mindless-kill-lots-of-baddies-and-brain-cells-at-the-same-time kind of way but in thought provoking and interesting stories which are the obvious end product of people who put a lot of work and love into their creation

and yes, there are bugs. most games have those, they're an unfortunate side effect of it being impossible to test every possible situation on every possible setup under every possible variable. thankfully somebody long ago invented patches and BioWare have done a better job of providing those than some other companies

See I have enlightened another fanboy into the real world of finance. You obviously were as deluded as the OP thinking DA2 was done for the fans not the cash. I am sure thats not what they told the investors.:innocent:

Yep, Bioware is now a passionless husk only out for your money

Infact
David Gaider is a robot and Mike Laidlaw is a reptillian. Bioware
doesn't even have humans in it, how can it? It's a completely
passionless organization

I hope you can feel my sarcasm radiating off your monitor.

I'm all for waiting till a game is out to judge it, but i also find people to be hypocritical little babies when they judge the game to be passionless before they try the full game

Isn't that right, Autolycus? I know you hate when people say DA2 is good before it comes out, but you're PERFECTLY fine with someone saying Bioware is passionless before DA2 comes out, right?

I would have to agree with the OP... They make some great games and some of the best within the whole gaming industry, even to this day. The ungrateful pieces of crap who whine and complain need to find another hobby or stop logging onto the forums as they contribute diddly.

I won't be so quick to thank them for DA 2, because I haven't been able to play it yet.

But I can say that they are very good at what they do. I know the story is going to be good (Bioware hasn't created a story I dislike thus far) but I'm waiting to see what these new features pan out to be.

Lastly, Duh. I'm sure the staff at Bioware like feeding their families and paying rent/mortage on time. I'll gladly pay them to continue to deliver games the way they have thus far.

Fail = You. If you had the ability to read my posts you would note I based my opinion of BW on their last 3 games so how is that judging DA2. Fanboys should actually see what they are ranting against, think , then reply instead of just raging mindlessly. I also note as a fanboy you do not judge the OP for praising BW for DA2 pre launch HYPOCRITE.

Funny how a topic so innocuous can, as with just about every other topic on these forums, bring out the naysayers who actively thrive on sucking every ounce of enjoyment the rest of us have from talking about a game developer we happen to like.

As for liking Bioware, I'm not so naive to think that everything they do is purely for their love of games - they are a business after all, and pretty damned successful one, lest we forget - but I have absolutely no qualms in saying that every game I have played by them I have greatly enjoyed. I don't need to justify myself to anyone for this and neither does anyone else.

Listen, if you hate the game so much, why are you here? I mean, you've never played it, it's finished, so, at this moment, your opinion doesn't mean anything. Neither does mine. But instead of devoting all of your energy to hating something, why don't you go somewhere  else? If everyone else feels like you, they should follow suit. An empty forum is far more telling than a bunch of loud dissenters.

If you hate it so much, don't buy it. Like I said, I don't care if they're out of to make money. If what they make is good--so what? There is no company in this industry whose bottom line isn't cash. The BioWare that made the games that you deigned to approve was just as greedy as the BioWare that doesn't.

First and only warning. Insulting, attacking, and being disrespectful to other posters is a violation of the site rules, as is being generally hostile or disruptive. Don't rise to the bait.

Yea I agree, DA 2 I haven't played yet... but series such as Mass Effect are really immersive and almost brings me back to the days when Baldur's Gate or Planescape was around.

And this differs from some poor guy saying he thinks the new combat is naff and gets all the fanboys raging against the poor shmuck how. That is the nature of forums people post their own views which often differ. Now if its OK for fan boys to ragepost on those pages why can't I post in a positive way here?

Haters will hate.
Praise BioWare!
EDIT: And for your information, yes I do know that they did this to make money -_-

As Dangerfoot said - I will be thanking them with my money. Neverwinter Nights is my favorite RPG of all time (the persistent worlds) - with Dragon Age coming in as first among common RPG models. So they will continue to get my money so long as they put out materials of this quality (unfortunately I do not appreciate their sci-fi brand - I consider that to be more Action Adventure)

If you think it's so easy why don't you go ahead and make a game like this and then give it for free ?
Profit.
