Of course, some of them are rude and/or ungrateful. Happily I still have their money

QFT. That's something we can meaningfully thank them for right now.elektrego wrote...
I will thank them, when I have completed the game for the first time with a happy heart and smile. Though the chances of that seem pretty good right now, I'd rather wait.
What i want to thank them for right now, is the great way they communicate the thought and work process behind their product on this forum. It has made the wait and anticipation leading up to the release quite enjoyable.
I fully expect to love this game, but not having played it, anything I say at the moment is just speculation. I will thank Bioware for DA2 after I've played it and can discuss it intelligently; when my "thank you" means more than just taking them on faith.

I have no love relationship with Bioware. If you look at the gaming industry as a whole, Bioware are really not that bad. They take time to talk to their players. Only Indie developers are more caring. Making a game is a hell of an investement and that's why they see to publishers like EA to get that funding, and money = influence. There is a difference between liking and being in love with. I think you're being a short-tempered e-berserker. People can thank Bioware of giving their payment of 49$+DLC a meaning, because many have wasted more than that on video games by those larger companies. Bioware is quite skilled in their art, even DA:O had a way less exaggurated UI than most RPGs seem to have.Bruno Hslaw wrote...
I feel really sorry for fan boys who think they have a love relationship with a games company that is so very sad. They must have no one in their sad lives if they start posting crap like BW loves me and made this game to show their love. They refuse to accept the reality that This is just business of course its all about the money for BW/EA.
I recommend you actually go out and meet real people seriously this kind of stalking from afar kind of creeps me out a bit.
Try to look into the case from others' viewpoint, and not decend upon them in fiery splender.
Do you know what leads to them taking -- what is in many people's opinion -- bad decicions? The answer is that the complaints are louder than the laudatory comments.
There's a substensial difference between starting a game engine than develop it further, but yeah, rushing ruin great titles -- the sole reasson 99% of games of large film titles are sub par.Rexras wrote...

I hate it when people blame EA.
BioWare is not a toddler for which their hand should be held, and their ideas are impressionable. The Doctors are VPs for the BioWare EA division.
The engine for DAII was already done. To make DAO, they had to develop that engine. They didn't for DAII, greatly decreasing the development time.
Not only that, but the ports added quite a bit to the development cycle.

EA own Bioware so they are as much at fault in the real world, for selling themselves both literaly and figuratively to EA. If any one had a problem with EA they would have quit and gone elswhere, like some have.

Funny how a topic so innocuous can, as with just about every other topic on these forums, bring out the naysayers who actively thrive on sucking every ounce of enjoyment the rest of us have from talking about a game developer we happen to like.
As for liking Bioware, I'm not so naive to think that everything they do is purely for their love of games - they are a business after all, and pretty damned successful one, lest we forget - but I have absolutely no qualms in saying that every game I have played by them I have greatly enjoyed. I don't need to justify myself to anyone for this and neither does anyone else.
And this differs from some poor guy saying he thinks the new combat is naff and gets all the fanboys raging against the poor shmuck how. That is the nature of forums people post their own views which often differ. Now if its OK for fan boys to ragepost on those pages why can't I post in a positive way here?

Fail = You. If you had the ability to read my posts you would note I based my opinion of BW on their last 3 games so how is that judging DA2. Fanboys should actually see what they are ranting against, think , then reply instead of just raging mindlessly. I also note as a fanboy you do not judge the OP for praising BW for DA2 pre launch HYPOCRITE.
Maybe you just don't like Bioware games?
If so, why are you here raining on the parade of people who DO?
What games do you like? That way a can call you a fanboy of THAT company. See how that works?
Also, are you SHOCKED that people are complimenting Bioware ON THEIR OWN FORUM? Again. Why are you here?

Bioware has only gotten bigger since EA bought them
EA gives Bioware a blank check for every game they make cause they know they can turn a profit because people LIKE their games
And how do you know the final game is rushed?
I seriously can't wait till DA2 comes out and blows people away like every Bioware game has

Sadly (for you) I refuse to be a fanboy. I believe that any company should continue to prove themselves with each and every new product. No one should live on their former glory if that has waned to a pale imitation of its former glory. In my nopinion if you want £40 quid off me prove why I should give you it.
I find it unreasonable to say, yes I like BG, NWN, KOTOR therefore BW from then onwards may only produce fantastic games. That is just stupid on so many levels. I much sooner judge people and companies on what they are like at present.
My view and yes not everyone here (although still a great many) Is that they lhave lost their way. I see them as lost and I just hope they get back to being a great company.

Ya I love the comments that these guys do it for the cash LMFAO. Ya they might be somewhat ok, driving a decent SUV, have a Mortgage, they might even have to pay taxes, but find me one JUST ONE decent game developer rolling around in their luxory ferari, sipping tea in their mansion or sticking their nose up in the air at all of us lowly peons who brainlessly rush out to buy their crappy product. Sorry, far from true, it takes talent to do this, dedication and of course a love for games beyond any average level. Cut them some respect will ya?
Meanwhile...is it the 8th yet? Grrr.....patience sucks.

I also appreciate the work Bioware's done. I've loved most everything they've done since BG2 (I never caught the ME bug though) and hope they can keep the quality in their games. Can't wait for DA2 should be epic.
