I had a much longer and more thought-out response, but my apartment complex decided to send out an announcement (which severs our internet until we check a box saying that we read them). So, forgive me if this sounds rushed. I have class and homework to get back to but I wanted to say it anyway!
I loved NWN for 5-6 years. It was my favorite game ever until Origins. I played the campaign alone, with friends via LAN, or online with new people. I loved the roleplaying servers that people managed to create online and loved them! In fact, the lack of a multiplayer where I couldn't go and play with other people online in our own worlds created from the toolset was a huge drawback when I first heard about it not being available in Origins. However, I played DAO and loved it! I fell for the characters much more than in NWN, despite my strong love for Aribeth. The setting and story are definitely intersting.
I really enjoyed Mass Effect 1 and 2, as well. I normally don't go for space games but it was fun and I can't wait for 3! Unfortunately, I didn't play Baldur's Gate, KotOR, or Jade Empire but I plan to eventually!
As for Dragon Age II, I'm anxiously awaiting it this next week! It's the one game I'm buying for myself until at least August, when I can hopefully get a job. Last semester in college, unemployed, moving in with my parents after my lease runs out this summer... I don't have many funds for video games.
However, you guys at BioWare have kept the development process compelling! Some people say we know so little, and I think that only makes me want to play it more. I've seen developers say that we haven't seen enough of some characters to truly judge if we like them or not, but that lack of information is the appeal. I want to know more about them, and the setting, and the story, etc. In that, I'd say you guys have done a great job.
So yes, I am going to be thankful!

I hope that I enjoy DA2 as much as the other games I've played. I hope that I want to replay it all the time (especially since I won't be buying anything else for a while!). I still feel like I can say thank you now, before the game. Here's hoping that after I play it endlessly next week, I can say even more good things about it.
After all, next week is my spring break and I'm totally not working on my senior seminar research paper on my break over DA2.
