i am lvl 11 so far, abilities i got are:

crushing prison
drain life
mind blast
force field
heroic offense
heroic defense
heroic aura

unfortunately i dont get to use most of those since i use a crapload of sustainables:

spell wisp
haste
telekenetic weapons
rock armor
arcane shield
combat magic

i also have wynne using frost weapons and morrigan using flaming weapons

11 strength
29 dexterity
31willpower
41magic
12 cunning
17 constitution

gear is pretty much just calians full set from the return to ostagar dlc, except for his wep - i am using duncans sword. havent found any good belts/necks/rings yet >.>

what are some important items that every arcane warrior should have? any important abilities im overlooking?
this is my first playthrough

With an arcane warrior, your top priority is to boost your mana regen so you can keep all your lovely sustained abilities running. Certain items help with this:

Evon the Great's Mail - available from Wade BEFORE he makes you the amour
Wade's Superior Dragonscale Gloves - which Wade can make for you
Wade's Superior Dragonscale Boots - same as WSDG...
Duncan's Sword
Andruil's Blessing - available to buy at mage tower. v expensive, though.

I'd suggest letting Wynne take the weight of some of the sustainables, such as Haste.
And you might also want to consider Death Syphon for when you're fighting mobs to keep your mana up.
I'd also suggest you get Death Magic, Heal and take Blood Mage as your second spec. With the Blood Mage ability to use your health pool as a mana pool and Wynne on hand to keep your health topped up, you may well find you have a virtually infinite mana pool.
But that depends on you actually getting the Blood Mage spec, which is rather difficult to unlock if you don't know where it is. Alternatively, go for Spirit Healer, which is easier to find.

I've been wondering this, too, though I've never gotten around to actually play an AW more than a few hours.

How exactly does everyone get the money to buy the 100g+ items, plus all the backpacks, and all the tomes of arcane knowledge, etc? Doesn't really seem possible without abusing potent lyrium potions (which also means not spending any money at all until you get the recipe)

And would it be a good idea to just have combat magic, rock armor, flame/frost weapons, and MAYBE arcane shield (because I'm not sure if the defense bonus is worth it) on my warden, then give Wynne Haste? Or maybe just drop flame weapons from the warden, give flame/frost to wynne, then pick up TK weapons for the warden (or not get it at all?)

I'm not even sure how to make an arcane warrior spell wise from the start, and I don't want to rely on a respec mod...

I think you can get a few hundred sovereigns if you don't abuse the lyrium exploit. Of course if you do the latter, you can buy anything you want, sooo...
