What order do you build up your skills? I'm starting a fresh insanity myself first time playthrough not NG+, have just been saving up to fill charge before I put points in anything else.

Depends on how you want to play him. Standard charge build is build up charge, build up class passive, who cares after that point you don't use the other powers(okay technically take the ammo powers next, squad with cryo). A more diverse build will ignore the ammo powers to some degree and after charge and the passive focus on shockwave and pull.

For a basic build structuring, I'd mix Heavy Charge first (the time dilation really helps out early game, since you won't have your shotgun upgrades very high yet), then Inferno Ammo, and mix Cryo with passive, and save Slam for last.

I'm considering doing another playthrough, any runs that people would like to see videos for?

Maybe this is just me, but after Charge rank 2, I focus on maxing out passive immediately to get Champion spec. At rank 2, Charge will still restore 50% over and above your usual shields, and Champion passive will get Charge's CD down to what it will be for the rest of the game (as biotic upgrades don't affect Charge). Once I have Champion and Charge 2, I find I'm pretty much playing like an NG+ Vanguard. Charge cools down quickly enough to allow spamming. Heavy Charge's time dilation is nice, but not as nice as being able to Charge again!

Purgatory NG+ is fun and challenging imo. Mordin's LM is always good too.

If you have any saves near the N7 missions, the Blue Suns base is really fun too, and the final fight is two YMIR mechs at once.

I started playing DA2 last week and after a while I went to youtube to search for videos of good players playing it, to get an idea of how well I could play. Then I found one of yours blood mage videos and I was in impressed and wondered how much time it would take someone to get in that level of play.

Anyway, then I saw some of your guides in the DA2 forum and thought if you played ME2 so I could feel less frustrated being better than you at it. Then I saw this topic and remember a discussion we had sometime ago, very funny to see I saying the very same things I would have said today. More than that, I wonder if what I said about this playstyle is valid for DA2's too. Guess I have to spend sometime with it so I can start to play it on highest level.

Btw, yours guides are exellent, super job! Maybe I'll try to do one when ME3 comes out (let's hope it's as cool to play as a vanguard as it is in ME2)... I got a equipament to record video from my 360 but I no nothing of video editing.

Maybe only the vorcha with pyro.

If you play Jack loyality mission late in the game ( not sure what level ) but those two fully armored Krogan in that last room can take several point blank claymore shots and still blow your head off. ( not to mention that guy that has armor plus barrier )  Krogan at around the time you first get the Claymore are easier to take down with a Claymore.  That is just my experience with a claymore vanguard.

So long as they don't give them back their Usain Bolt dash from ME1, they can do pretty much anything, and I won't mind.

The Vorcha were dangerous because there's never just one of them, it's several, and their Assault Rifles focus firing on you ****ing HUUUUURTS.

Thought I'd bump this thread/guide with a video of my own of the Omega Slums. I do use cover a few times, but I think I did the Berserker Vanguard justice.

Also thank you for this guide and thank you all makers of Vanguard videos.

Just uploaded Garrus' Recruitment Mission man did this one suck even the music I picked was kind of crappy in hindsight lol.

Finished Purgatory as well but it is still uploading. Purgatory was really fun lots of red veins too.

Uploaded Horizon -- I left out the Praetorian. The opening encounter of this mission is always gives me hell. My aim just blows when aiming at Collectors for some reason too.

DCS is up. I did the platforms very fast(67-ish seconds). I think it is my best gameplay so far, but by far my worst video/audio quality. Long story short compression got funky and it took two tries to upload it to YouTube.

Odd.. do you live outside the United States? If so that could be why. I used two (USA)mainstream-ish tracks in that video, so that could lead to blockage for some. I'll keep that in mind for future videos.


Tali's Recruitment Mission is up.

I will probably upload Miranda's LM too later today. I intend crank out a lot of videos tommorow. Tali's LM and Garrus' LM for sure. I don't think I'll record Zaeed's or Kasumi's LM. I paragon Zaeed so less combat and Kasumi's mission is really long and filled with charge bugs. I've already done Jacob's and Jack's LM(didn't record). So I'll try and get to the Reaper IFF and record that as well. If I'm still feeling good I'll do a House Divided too. And then I'm done recording until prob the 26th or so. But when I get back I plan on wrapping up my Vangurd videos with SM tubes, LotSb and Object Rho. I'm aiming for no cover on Object Rho. I failed last time hopefully I can get it this time.

I'll probably make a montage of Overlord and all the fun side missions at a later date. I'm kind of getting Vanguarded out though, and want to record my Adept. Or maybe give Engineer a try.
