Yep, same reason day 1 DLC isn't on the disc. This is all content we were able to complete after the game disc was locked and sent for certification.
You're joking, right?
I mean, has the game industry REALLY sunk this low? I can live with day one DLC not being on the disc - it's extra material, after all.
But we have to DOWNLOAD the high rez textures?
This is a core part of the game, and it's not included on the disc. The mind boggles.
I swear no other industry I can think of gets away with the BS the video game industry does.
"Oh, we'll sell you this new car, but we don't include feature x, you'll have to get that from the factory. And if it doesn't work, you can't return it. We might fix what's wrong with it in a few months, if you're lucky. You can download that fix, because you have limitless patience and bandwidth. Oh, and you don't actually own the car we're selling you even though we're charging you full price, you're renting it! And don't even think about re-selling the car, we've tied it to your address - no one else will ever be able to drive it. Oh, and there's this little 8 page contract included inside the glove box. We won't let you read it before you buy the car, but we're sure you'll agree to all the terms and conditions. If you don't, you can always try returning it. (Good luck with that, though.)"
The demo was buggy as all get out. This makes me really fear that the actual game will be the same. If you didn't have time to put the textures on the disc, what else didn't you have time for? Beta testing? QC?
Sorry, but this kind of thing really ticks me off. <_<
