Just out of curiosity, is this what passes for underwear for males in DA2?
Yes Male Hake has full pants for underwear. No boots tough that person left his boots on.

Hrm? What? What were we talking about? Oh, right... Man boobs.
@ SurelyForth... Lanky, eh? Vampire Bloodlines, maybe? Not sure... just shootin' from the hip here. Even JRPG's are getting stocky and muscular these days.

Well to be fair FemHawke will not have hairy legs so why should maleHawke have a hairy chest.

I think the male models are too top heavy and sorta bandy-legged. Of course, my preference for dudes is lanky as hell, so I'm never going to get what I want out of video game men.

To whoever posted above about FemHawke having leg hair. Most women that don't shave, or never shave thier legs have lighter hair on them than they would if they had shaved and then stopped. So it is possible given the type setting this is in for her to not have really visible leg hair. Besides this is fantasy!

Maybe modders will fix the flat male chests again. It looks fine from the front, but the side view is a little underwhelming.

Yes, my apologies. I haven't kept abreast of the intense exercise and diet regimens of Thedas. One would think a peasant like Hawke wouldn't have the luxury of "watching what he eats".SnowHeart1 wrote...
OP may need to research what a man who spends some time at the gym and watches what he eats looks like.
No. 2 is definitely overdeveloped. He spends too much time at the gym (and probably not enough watching what he eats).
No. 1 does not look like No. 2.
No. 1 is fine. His walking posture may be a little odd in that shot, but his body is fine.
Trust me, I'm an expert.
@ JasonPogo... a little chest hair would have been nice. If you're on PC, expect it to be fixed in a mod. If you're on a console, you're SOL. Sorry.

Actually looking at the torso shows Bioware have done their homework.
Thick waist - thick waist are indicative of strong CORE muscles. People with wide shoulders and tapered waist are gym rats who build up muscles deliberately - a strong core is indicative of hard work or life long training rather than quick muscle growth.
The pectorals ('pecs') are large because they are responsible for the lifting and movement of the arms. Archers, dual wielders, fencers - all of these lift their armsand perform strong strikes (or in archer's case, draw back resistant bowstrings) so it is natural that pectoral muscles are larger to account for the strain put on them. Large muscles are also indicative of sudden demands for lots of energy, rather than for moderate amounts
over a period of time. No fighting --> massive fights with dragons --> resting back home would create a cycle of high demand-low demand, rather than constant medium demand, so again - built up muscles for quick power rather than smaller, more energy-efficient for endurance. Marathon runners vs sprinters, people.
As for the undefined abs, again - this is a sign of FUNCTIONAL muscle, rather than muscle that is built up for show. Characters with tapered waists and defined abs are NOT super-strong and super-fit, they're indicative of people trying to build muscle quickly - for looks. If you have absolutely no fat on your stomach - ESPECIALLY for males since that is the primary depositing point - then you are gravely ill and should start eating a higher calorie diet. That is extremely unhealthy.
I am pleased with how the male torso looks. Believe me when I say it makes anatomical sense when you think about the different types of abdominal muscles, the pectorals, and how muscles work vs those who enter body-building competitions and those that wrestle elephants. For fun!
....also I would love to know why the hell when I submit comments breaks are inserted in my lines for no reason. It looks damn unprofessional, and every time I try to edit them out they COME BACK.
