Do I detect envy among some? I'm sure if we were swinging swords around all day, killing darkspawn and other foes, we'd also look like this.

The OP is either envious or using this as an excuse to post the pic of male Hawke. Any way yo put it, maleHawke's body looks good, and I like the fact that Bioware is actually using realistic looking models instead of those attrocious things from DAO

When did he find the time to wax what with the running and the fighting??

You know, I really don't understand why they didn't give him some chest hair when default Hawke sports a beard. The body just looks plastic.

i belive it's been said that manhawke does have chest hair

I don't know of any guy who can grow a beard but naturally doesn't grow chest hair.

QFT. Hoping the character creator has more options in the final release than in the demo.

Anyone seen the new character generator for EVE online? I'm not saying I want that level of granularity (though it would be nice), but the inability to customize parts of the character other than his/her face is pretty weak.

Oh, I totally understand your point. The entire game is built on exaggeration. Not really my thing, either.

I'm glad. I was worried that my comment would be taken as something completely different than what it was intended as. That happens quite often.

But yeah, the image that should be portrayed here is that of a desperate peasant on the run and I'm just not seeing that. I guess I'd like more dark and less idealized in my dark fantasy. I want to see the suffering I'm fighting to prevent. I want to hear the thundering footsteps of the horde I'm running from. I want to feel genuinely motivated to get out there and chop heads. If Hawke is doing that well running from the blight then what's the problem? I say we let him keep running, shirtless and all.

Would have been really nice to see some actual changes in Hawke's body during his rise to power. Starting out as a ragged peasant barely capable of lifting a sword and ending your journey as a champion of legend would have made for quite the adventure. Oh well, someday.

Well, lifting a sword wouldnt be an issue since they were rather light (around 1kg) ;P

But me totally agrees - wheres the sense of some guy ready for chippendales in an disease-ridden world?

OP. If 'hilarious' is code for 'super-hot' then I agree.

Ailith430. NEVER stop posting pics of that custom Hawke. Surely you have more!?

I'm sorry, but the first thing that came to mind when I read this was the female warriors in Fable 2.

What is seen cannot be unseen.

At any rate, Hawke is a pretty young guy at first, and since the story spans 10 years... who knows? He might undergo some physical changes, though I doubt that body is important.

Besides, I think it's more immersion breaking for Hawke to decide to fight darkspawn half-naked like he's a 300 extra. You won't really have to see Hawke's glorious man-torso until he becomes a REAL MAN.

*ahem* At any rate... I really don't think it's that big of a deal if he doesn't change or starts out looking all sexy and heroic. I think his rise to power, at any rate, is more about fame/infamy rather than strength and heroism... or even about politics. He does hold enough power to make Cassandra seek him to "put the chantry back together"...

EDIT: wow, repetive language. Shame on me.

Ye olde Walrus Polishing Kit. Six super brushes that clean even the trickiest of sea-bound mammals.

The body model looks decent, if anything the torso looks proportionally a little bit long.

I can only hope Anders and Fenris don't look like this as well.

The way he's built (I imagine a fighter would have more develloped oblique, more a barrel like torso than v shaped) doesn't bother me as much as his photoshoped model skin quality. A fighter/worker should be less rosy smooth and more tan plus "wear & tear".

The body model really looks different in different pictures and from different angles... A bit of shading or lack thereof around the chest seems to make a huge difference in the perceived size.

I have a better body than that, more toned anyway. Also from what I can gather from that picture Hawke is into domestic abuse.

While I can't imagine that he'll end up filling anyone's desire for chest hair, I imagine Fenris will be different than Hawke if only because elves use a different model than humans. Though now that I think about it, I'm not sure if that's as true in this game as it was in the last. Anders I don't have any clue about, but I agree it'd be boring if every single human guy looks the same with his shirt off.

Internet rule 68# pics or it didn't happen.

Also you have gyms and special diets available. Hawke does not.

Hawke has a team of artist-surgeons... He'll win everytime. Hawke is actually more toned, just bad textures. And wait til DA3! You thought Hulk was built...

The same here.  It seemed like the actions you could do throughout that game were male oriented.  I always got the feeling that they stuck longer hair on the male and called it a female.  I'm never buying fable 3. <_<

I think that the male hawke torso looks really good.  Veins on the arms would've been nice; but chest hair - meh.

ManHawke looks like he has bad pec implants and, as Garrus would say, his waist looks very...supportive. Is this some sort of male ideal I wasn't aware of?

He looks like standard exaggerated human male in video game, similar how it's done to video game females. It's by no means new ideal.

OP may need to research what a man who spends some time at the gym and watches what he eats looks like.
No. 2 is definitely overdeveloped. He spends too much time at the gym (and probably not enough watching what he eats).
No. 1 does not look like No. 2.
No. 1 is fine. His walking posture may be a little odd in that shot, but his body is fine.

Trust me, I'm an expert. Image IPB

@ JasonPogo... a little chest hair would have been nice. If you're on PC, expect it to be fixed in a mod. If you're on a console, you're SOL. Sorry.

I facepalmed at this comment.
