Hey, you asked how Shepard'd go toe-to-toe with a reaper, I answered. Not saying I like the idea, just saying how it could be done in-game.

you could do it like shadow of the colossus

I will singlehandedly...... destroy these forums if that happens.

idk what I would want for a boss exactly, but I just don't like the idea of a clone, BioWare needs to come up with sth else.

Better would be if you were the clone and the boss of ME3 is the real Shepard. Real Shepard has been recuperating in Cerberus's bacta tanks the whole time. You were just the only clone to escape the destruction of the station at the start of ME2.

if that happened my mind = raped.

They already did it in Jade Empire. You had to fight three of yourself.

Let's not be unoriginal please.

Honestly, I'd like they be a little bit more creative and refrain from this unoriginal final boss concept this time around.

I like the idea about a evil clone. Sure it might be a little cliché but it could work. But i don't want to see a Shepard clone as the final boss or main villain. A Shep clone could be an interesting evil sidekick though.

With the current lead-writer we have? I'd say there's a 47.39% chance of it happening. Give or take 5%.

Sidekick? I admit my idea isn't that great or original, but that one is just plain bad.

It turns out that the real Commander Shepard died, you are merely a clone made by the Illusive man to do his bidding. You are faulty, however, and become defined by your devotion to your chosen love interest.

At the end you attempt to kill the Illusive man, but are stabbed through the back with a light saber shot from behind by a perfected clone who is totally loyal to him.

Oh wait...

If there's an evil Shepard clone he has to be wearing that dastardly goatee, twirly mustache, tophat-monocle combo.

The thing is, a shep clone wouldn't be nearly interesting or epic enough to conclude the Shepard story even if it was done right. For that, i would prefer something a little more original, fresh and interesting. Harbinger wasn't very interesting either for that matter. But i like the idea about a evil clone even though it's not a very original idea. So a evil clone sidekick is an reasonable compromise but quite frankly, they should probably just stay away from the clone thing.

What i really want is a new Saren/Loghain kind of character, a villain you can actually hate but also understand.

I don't think Mass Effect 3 lends itself to a fina boss battle. I think the game will have a final war scene. All the different species aligned with Shephard against those aligned with the Reapers.

I want a final boss. The game that wouldn't have fitted with one would have been ME2, and yet they pulled it off.

Who says you can't have both? Some kind of final confrontation between Shepard and the main villain is not only possible but probably also the only right way to do it IMO. But ofcause this could play out in many different ways.

I dunno if I'm the first one to say it (didn't read through the whole thread, but the posts I did read welcomed the suggestion), and I don't wanna be an ass...

But that would suck :-s totally... it's just sooooo overused and would be too much of a big plot twist ( big plot twists are good - if done correctly - but this big plot twists have a 99.(9) chance of failing...).

Just my honest opinion...

I can't help but laugh when people say "Try to be original" when, if you really think about it, just about everything has already been done at one point or another by someone else. Whether it be in a movie, book, or video game it has already been done. It is only a matter of adding one or more things that make it seem "original".

Anyway, I wouldn't like a Shephard clone as the final boss and would also like to avoid a true boss fight to end the game. When it comes to the Shephard clone, I would love to see several in ME3 but none are active. Maybe all being failed attempts done by the Reapers.

That would be cool, but it would force BW to make an enemy out of them.

As South Park once so eloquently stated, "Simpsons did it! Simpsons did it!"
