Female qunari companion next game, please!!! If she's a mage or something then she HAS to be a warrior, right? Even though women aren't supposed to be warriors in the Qun..

Personally I'd like some DLC similar to the Darkspawn Chronicles, except you play as a Sten in Kirkwall rather than a Hurlock Vanguard in Denerim.

Nor do I. They are worldly, high elegant giants for certain.

but still, I would love to see some kind of Chess inspired, elaborate ceremonial game, sport or activity between The Klingons and The Qun.

If there is a Qunari companion, I'm not only hoping they're female, but also hornless. It'd clear up some confusion with some people wouldn't it? Are hornless sarrebas chained like other Qunari mages? Make it hard to do they're special purpose otherwise.

So was Sten actually not full grown or this is just a retcon on the Qunari appearance? Like that of Flemeth.

He was born like that. Some Qunari are born without horns and some, who have left the Qun, saw their horns off.

Thats the lore-reason. The real reason is that Qunari was supose to have horns in Origins but they could not get it to work with the helmets so they had to skip it and now they have fixed that problem.

Didnt all sten in DA2 wear helmets ?

I would also like to see female Qunari but only in a non-lorebreaking retcon free way

I was wondering about the roles that each of the Qunari are assigned to at birth...or is it when they come of age? Is it possible for someone to name all the roles and explain them? Eg: Sten, Ashaad, Karashok etc.

I have an idea as to what the Arishok and Arvaraad role is. Although, some clarity on any of the afore mentioned roles would be welcome, if someone is willing to indulg me.

I'm a bit of a Dragon Age lore fan.

Qunari get their roles by when they are children. The Tamassrans (priests/teachers) raise the children and give them their education. According to the wiki, once qunari children reach 12, they are evaluated through physical tests on what they do best, and whatever the Tamassrans think they did best at, is the job they take in future life.

To further answer Zertag's question. The Arishok is basically the Qunari General. He is one of the Triumvirate.  The Arigena leads the craftsmen, the Ariqun leads the priesthood, and the Arishok leads the armies. So any Qunari that has a role in warfare answers to him. The closest role I can think of aside from general is a Shogun, maybe?

Arvaarads are a bit like Templars. They're the masters of the Saarebas, the mages. The master that holds the leash and watches for corruption.

http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Qunari <- Pretty much everything we know about the Qunari so far.

Also, awesome picture jolly. ;)

I can see how that'd go;  Hawke was the one who gets pummeled by the Ogre, so by the time the others get to Kirkwall, all Bethany and Carver can do is bicker until Beth ends up chest-fisted by Fenris and Carver gets Justiced in the face by Anders.

Now your Sten is free to rampage through the city, picking up Sarebas and Arishok as he goes along :police:

A Saarebas mage companion would be sooooooooooo great.....dlc please? Ahh Qunari, those crazy militant, socialist, religious zealot philosophers. If Ogres come from Qunari women brood mothers and the Qunari only came to Thedas after the 4th blight how does the gray warden lore know that much about ogres? Unless the Darkspawn have some way to go between Thedas and wherever the Quanari home continent is...

This has always been on my mind... I mean, there are a couple of points in the lore that don't perfectly add-up but this is the only one that actually annoyed me, I'm surprised not many people noticed this.

You know what, that would actually be pretty fun, maybe instead of a Sten we could be one of the leash guys with our personal mage, just to make the gameplay somewhat different from the game.

Sten was Qunari but he was a convert or from a family/region taht had already submitted to the Qun.  Hence why he dosen't look like the majority of qunari in DA2

I'm not critiscizing them but how can Sten from Origins look so different from the others and yet still be a Qunari?

Anaan esaam Qun.

Those of us born without horns are a rarity amongst the qunari and are said by some to be marked for greatness by the Qun and make our brethren somewhat uncomfortable at times, this Sten you speak of is obviously one such individual. Think of it as the albinism that sometimes affects you bas.

Thought for the day: Even the blind can behold the enlightenment of the Qun, and thenceforth they shall see with truer vision than even the eagle on high.

Ataash qunari.

I'm actually most interested about the horns biologically 8D How do they work.
Is it triggered by high counts of testosterone? If so why didn't sten have them. Are there only one gene or multiple genes affecting the size and weither you have them or not and is it resessive or dominant...

So basically I want to ask is there any biological explanation to the horned vs hornless qunari? Or do some of them have horns just because.

Sten was a mage, that's why he didn't have any horns, The Qun cut them off. Mages can't learn warrior skills, because their busy learning to control their magic. Sten doesn't have that problem because he simply never uses his magic... or his emotions, hence the no accidental spells.
