Well there is that Qunari only mecenary group of about 12 Qunari that you have to assasinate for the Crows. I would have expected at least one of them to have horns. Oh well. No point raging about it now.
see the flag wave in awakening the Qunari is insulted to be called one he is tal vash(sp)
the way it is said you can tell theres at the very least dislike at being attached to the Qun
being mercs would be against the qun as it's self serving so it's likely they were tal vash
perhaps removing ones horns is a way prove they have left the Qun behind?
just go with it

I want to see a scene where a qunari is relieving a kid of his cookies "for his own good" (in the words of the sten when bribing the boatsman at circle in dragon age 1). If sten says he did it to some poor kid it would be funny to have such a scene in dragon age 2 T_T (u can hope maybe there is cookie reference somewhere in dragon age 2 too <.<).
Link to a vid caption of the scene made from some1 in youtube: (incase u cant remember that scene with sten giving out some of his cookies and where he got it from ...)
Sten is now a mainstay in my squad.

It involves trickery with the PC version of DA:O or the DA Character Creator (that being the option to take if you can't run the full game on your system). Basically, you create a character. Then you start the game and save it. Then make an image of the same dimensions and format as the portrait file for that character out of whatever you want as your avatar. Overwrite the portrait with it, then set it read-only (otherwise, it'll just get changed back). When you're done that, either load the game and save so that character profile gets updated, or use the upload character option in the character creator. Then you wait for the image to show up here, which can take a little while.

Qunari are really badass this time around. The Arishok is so impressive.
I agree... I'd love to have the Arishok as an eternal companion, and he also looks like a darkspawn to boot.
As a matter of fact, am I the only one that mistook him for a darkspawn the first time seeing him?

the reason is because those are quanari that abandonned the qun. i think one of the codexes states that quanari that do that usually remove there horns.TexasToast712 wrote...

True, that has been stated (by Gaider) but make no mistake: that is an after-the-fact handwave. At the time of DA:O, those dudes were just plain ol' qunari. I don't mind it myself. I can roll with it being a statistical fluke or whatever, and it's better than having some elaborate, personalized excuse or backstory for every single DA:O qunari to explain the lack of horns. I always found that sort of thing far more implausible. You just end up with even more unexplained coincidences.
The DA:O codex entry on them is actually the only thing the doesn't really mesh all that well with the new lore explantion for Sten and the others not having horns. You can handwave that too, but it doesn't really work because the implication that qunari look like Sten in general is just a bit too strong to get away with that. But, there's always the toolset...

By the way was the horn thing addressed in the game?
EDIT: I see there might have been a codex saying somthing about the qun requireing removal of the horns, but if thats the case then their should be some scaring and deformation on the heads or non horned qunari. Im calling it bs. The qunari were the most intriguing culture in the entir DA world they didnt need horns. The horns were a misguide carrot and stick routine to draw in players who dint play DAO. Pathetic IMO.

Actually yes. In the codex entry for the broodmother in DA:O it says that ogres are darkspawn grown from qunari broodmothers. Hence why they are so rare.

I loaded up my game and their it was last line. Shame on me for missing it and Thx for the info. Still dosent help the apparent dissonace with the horned qunari. My initial question was also more directed toward being in DA 2 ( which I edited ), but thats a moot point now anyway.Gyroscopic_Trout wrote...
