I kinda want to meet Sten, horns and all. I'd rather they all have horns than retro the lore with exceptions.

So, neither Seheron nor Par Vollen are the actual homeland of the Qunari, right? I know they come from outside of the main Thedosian continent, but will we ever get a hint as to their origins at a later point?

Sten will not have the horns if he returned in another game (though it's confirmed that he will not be in DA2). They said that he's a rare type of qunari

Those mages look really wicked, also i'm still struggling here guys, whats the explanation for why sten doesn't have horns? is he a half-breed or is he inferior to the horned guys or what?

Some Qunari can be born without horns. Those born without horns are supposedly destined for greatness.

Other Qunari remove their horns, supposedly because they want to distance themselves from their old culture and leave the Qun.

I'm going to take down The Qun.

Bunch of conformist, collectivist drones, the ultimate in dystopic societies. I am going to enjoy destroying these worms.

...that said, being the RPGer that I am, should DA2 have staying power and replayability value, I will make one Hawke who agrees with these ideas, if possible. Will prolly be one of my more evil Hawkes.

Conformism and collectivism are not bad. The qun is certainly not dystopic there are humans who think qun is better than Chantry.

They are to me, brother!

And I'm not surprised that some people think the Qun is a neat idea. For example, you can find supporters of Juche even in Western countries today...

Trying to draw the real world parallels does not work really.
"When the qunari were pushed back to the Exalted Marches, the Chantry was disturbed to discover that a suprisingly large number of members of their faith had quite happily converted to the foreign religion".
Obviously the many humans prefer the Qun to Chantry and no they are not brain washed. It's either conversion or labour camps.

Interesting culture, neither good nor evil. While my Hawke will likely see them as enemies, it's nice that BW made them shades of grey.

Also, I doubt they are all Sten clones. When Leliana asked him if they have bards he replies 'why wouldn't we?' He explains he's just one guy, a soldier at that, not necessarily representative of his entire culture. That would be like meeting Sandal, and assuming all dwarves were retarded.

Also, the females are not just cooks and cleaners. They can be priests and civil leaders. Just not warriors.

With regard to his hatred of mages, you need to unlock one of his 'hidden' conversation. He talks - quite emotionally - about what the Tevinters did to his people and that is why he feels that way about mages.

The only problem with them saying Sten is "rare" is that all the other Qunari you meet in DA:O look exactly like him. Granted there aren't loads of them though. It's kinda like Star Trek when they revamped the Klingon's and had to say the non-ridged foreheads from the original series had a genetic disorder. To my mind you don't really need to explain. I get that you wanted to make them look cooler and more different to the other humanoids. Same with making Elves taller and revamping them a bit.

The only thing is why do the Qun mages look like small Ogres? I do like their helmets though

Well him being an "upper class" warrior that would kind of make sense. And also who knows sten had to go through with them. (maybe his loved ones died at the hands of one of them transformed in an abomination and that's why he shows so few emotions)

Sten was supposed to be our average qunari. Or introductory into the Qun. His feelings were the feelings of the Qunari at large. :?

Actually Sten told us himself that he doesn't represent the Qunari as a whole.

*Hides his USSR Fur hat* Err yeah BETTER DEAD THAN RED!

Honestly I don't see anything wrong with parts of the Qun then again I'm more likely to agree with Eastern Philosphy, cultural points and views, than that of the West, and am a bit of an authoritarian, and a bit of a leftist in economics..  Whats funny is I'ld be more at home in China or parts of the Mid East, and yet I was raised by a US Christian Family whos members are very liberal, or very market conservitives, whould'a thunk?

I mean I seen the Arguments of Chantry = Christians, Qun=Islam on here alot. But to me its more like Chantry=Islam, and the Qun = a Militant Version of confucianism, with hints of Communisim. But not to draw this into a debate or a flame war, I wonder just how big the Empire they control is, or if there are other lands of peoples we have yet to see in DA. More so we know Orges come from Qunari broodmothers, so just how many of them leave the Qun and its ways, and more so how do they end up on the deep roads...alot we don't know about the Sten and his people.
