We need some fan art of what a female Qunari might look like!
We already have them.

What do they do with Female Qunari mages?
Considering the way the Qunari approach breeding for specific purposes, I imagine female Qunari mages are prime breeding stock to produce more and more living weapons.
Assuming, of course, the Qunari have noticed whether or not magic is an inheritable trait.
I heard somewhere that female Qunari are more like the leaders.

I'm not sure about this, but I don't think the Qunari would strive to bring more mages into the world than there already are. Their main military advantage is their superior technology (versus Thedas' mages), so it's not as if they're wonting for firepower. Qunari mages are well-known for being more or less impotent in comparison to the mages of Thedas,Capt. Obvious wrote...

due in large part to the restrictions placed on them.
Point being, I think a bright, organized female Qunari would be far more desireable than a magically-gifted one, as far as the rest of Qunari society is concerned.

the highest social hierarchy of the qunari is the priesthood. its a female exclusive job . so yes females hold the most power in qunari society.
Atleast the society isn't as backstab oriented like the most female-led societies, like Drow in Forgotten Realms and Hapesian's in Star Wars. Keeping up the appearances, eh?

I admit they look cool...if it was a different race.
as it is the retconn into horned/non-horned qunari..is stupid.
but at least they look better then the Navi treatment the elves got.

That would be awesome, agreed. I like the new looks of the race.

As to the rape thing, plausable, but not always likely. In WW2 many raped women commited suicide. And in some Units Rape never happend among its soldiers. It depends on the level of unit discipline. Given what we've read and seen they DO loot. However they may not rape...
While this may be the case, there are always exceptions to the rule. The "misfit" exists in many societies: Qunari have the Tal'Vashoth, an entire society composed of "misfits" no longer satisfied with the Qun. Though they are similar to the Qunari in that they are defined by their philosophy and not their race.
Anyway, what I'm more trying to say is that its not too much of a stretch to assume there was indeed Qunari rapists (basically) at one point. The question is: were they fertile?
Furthermore, its worth remembering that also in WWII there were many love stories of exotic soldiers meeting foreign women (mind you, they were significantly less than the rapist situation) that changed their lives. I mean really, is no one curious of the Qunari man who fell in love with a Ferelden woman who became a Grey Warden (
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That said though, the question on MY mind now is how the Qun is practiced in Rivain. The Qunari have been pushed back to their first islands of Seheron and Par Vollen, but the Rivaini still believe in the Qun. The one discrepancy is that they revere their mages instead of fearing them.
If they all believe in the Qun, how do they practice it without the "main" Qunari there? Do they have their own Arishok? Do the shamans (mages) run the place? Curious.

Odd. Sten called them beasts, no better than animals.
Indeed he did, I'm finding it hard to believe how much Bioware are re-writing of the information that we had recieved off of Sten and the rest of the Qunari we meet for example, no visible scarring from them apparently after removing their Horns (attatched to the skull), females being in Fereldan to be turned into broodmother's, and no mention of them having horns despite the chantries multiple exalted marches on them.
It's an obvious redesign, although I am liking it, I'm just not liking the way that they're being depicted as almost beastman like.
I love how Sten says the mages perform tricks, aren't as dangerous as the ones that "you" have, remove their tongues and that they live in pens like beasts (in the shape of men).

I'm a human-only race kind of person but I wouldn't mind a Qunari as a more secondary playable character that has a bigger role in the story.Drasill wrote...

I'm not sure how well that would work, given that you'd be roleplaying something completely alien. It works better if you have some sort of mental similarity with the species and culture you play, so you can create a character that makes sense.

They should just remake Dragon Age Origins with the new battle system and art style. That'll fix everything.

Remember that the Qunari have no "rulers" as humans know them, they don't require "leadership" because they're all working towards the same goal. While you're correct that female Qunari are anything but tied-down, they certainly don't wield the powers of a king.HolyJellyfish wrote...
Some reminding needs to be taken.
Female Qunari are NOT Oppressed / tied down / forced to be domestic. In fact, Female Qunari probably have more power than the Male Qunari since their roles are Preists, Government officials, etc.
They control the infrastructure of the Qun. The Females decide the roles and titles given to a Qunari at birth. If the Females feel that a Qunari would be a wonderful warrior, it is assigned accordingly. If the females notice a mage, they are the ones who issue the order.
The women are very much the rulers in that society, if you want to compare it to a traditional government.
Hence why I said "If you want to compare it to a traditional government"
I'm just a little tired of hearing people go off about how Female Qunari are oppressed and forced in the kitchen. Not the case at ALL. The women are the administrators, the spiritual leaders, and the teachers. While the Qun teaches each part is equally important, but certain tasks are gender specific, the women very much have deeper control over the infrastructure. If the Men are the Muscle, the women are the brain.
The Qun would respect a woman cooking just has much has a woman giving you order in a platoon.Sten would not walk by a cook and snob him because he think he`s superior by his function. But he would not understand why the cook want to become a soldier. because there`s nothing wrong with being a cook . It's what you're.
Sten don't consider himself badass . He just consider himself a soldier and something he was meant to become.
So there's some kind of good coming out of their culture. We live in an individualism society and some of us have lost the grasp of equality.

To be honest, I don't know what you're talking about but all I'm saying is that I heard somewhere that females are leaders. Also, by magically-gifted, do you mean gifted with magic or just good at leading from the start?
