ah yes...the Qunari...the retconned goat-boys and Draenei (sp) of Thedas.

I admit they look cool...if it was a different race.

as it is the retconn into horned/non-horned qunari..is stupid.

but at least they look better then the Navi treatment the elves got.

They should just remake Dragon Age Origins with the new battle system and art style. That'll fix everything.

 Why would they do that!?

That is too much time, money, and energy.

Also,Sten will always be hornless.

Down with the Qun!

Why do the Qunari suddenly have horns?

You must have been away for a while, we've known that the Qunari have horns since the first screen shots came out. Officially, it has been stated that Sten and hornless-qunari like him are a special kind of qunari who are born without horns. These qunari are given special status with their society, and are usually sent out into the world as scouts and ambassaders, because they look more like the native populaces.

Wow. I honestly thought the writing was bad in Mass Effect. This raises things to a totally new level. Now they're retrofitting their lore to whatever suits the concept art team? Was it really so much to ask for a little consistency?

I'm sure there will be a mod to horn up the qunari in origins incoming, maybe tattoo them up a tad too. that would be cool. sten with horns would give him a bit more scary charactor i reckon.

If it's legal to use DA 2 assets for modding purposes, you'll see this very quickly I'd think.

What do they do with Female Qunari mages?

Considering the way the Qunari approach breeding for specific purposes, I imagine female Qunari mages are prime breeding stock to produce more and more living weapons.

Assuming, of course, the Qunari have noticed whether or not magic is an inheritable trait. :P

I heard somewhere that female Qunari are more like the leaders.

I'm not sure about this, but I don't think the Qunari would strive to bring more mages into the world than there already are. Their main military advantage is their superior technology (versus Thedas' mages), so it's not as if they're wonting for firepower. Qunari mages are well-known for being more or less impotent in comparison to the mages of Thedas,
due in large part to the restrictions placed on them.

Point being, I think a bright, organized female Qunari would be far more desireable than a magically-gifted one, as far as the rest of Qunari society is concerned.

To be honest, I don't know what you're talking about but all I'm saying is that I heard somewhere that females are leaders. Also, by magically-gifted, do you mean gifted with magic or just good at leading from the start?

Female Qunari have proven to be better then Male Qunari at managing their society, or something like that. So in a sense they would be leaders.

Because Tolkien never did that, huh? OK, well, Tolkien is a horrible writer anywho, but you get the point.

Somehow it never clicked with me prior to now that those things with horns were supposed to be the Qunari. WTF happened to them? Ughh, I hope Sten doesn't have horns now.

Sten remains hornless although he's supposed not to be in the game. It's primarily just a redesign but they tried to justify it by saying that there are hornless Qunari, who are usually chosen as part of the vanguard/emissaries because they're less "scary" to other races. Then come those who tore their own horns off because they reject the Qun (typically, Qunari mercenaries). That's how they explained it at least.

it was stated that Sten is "special" since it was born with no horns, meaning he was ment for greatness

I wonder if Bioware plan to give us a Qunari squadmate as a extra DLC. I wouldn't mind having a female qunari party member.

Whose to say the Arishok is a he. From what i take the female qunari seem to be able to manage the qun society alot better than the men. Also I swore i heard rumors we would be getting  a female qunari on our team, unless that was reference to Aveline that i missed in another thread lol.

Arishok is the one who leads the army of qunari, and from what's known, women are not warriors.
Beside, I'm pretty sure the big, double 2hand wielder is the Arishok.

+ here's the vid with his encounter; www.youtube.com/watch watchout *SPOILER ALRET*

So, from what the spoiler reveals, about the qunari and Qun, there is a triumvirate that leads the people: Arishok, Arighena and Ariqun

Arishok, as it's already known, controls the army, but other 2 are not yet known

Ataash qunari, brethren today we take ship for far lands that have yet to awaken to the call of wisdom and embrace the Qun. Wish us victory in enlightenment or death in the pursuit of it and grieve not for whether in life or death we will be remembered as the strong right hand of the Arishok.

Thought for the day: How many lands shall we bring to the wisdom of the Qun? One more always one more.

Anaan esaam Qun.
