Then we can't have a voiced protagonist again. A new protagonist at least gives us an origin story.

That's my fear. We'll have Hawke who's the Viscount of Kirkwall leaving the city tht he runs to head over to the Anderfels to becoem a Grey Warden. I don't want Hawke to become the ultimate Mary Sue. I'd rather hear the tales of various other heroes. Maybe a hero of the Qunari or an Orlesian bard.
While i surely don't want Hawke to become the new Shepard... one is more than enough... i rather have Hawke star in 10^10 Games (i'd type a higher number, but i doubt i'd be living that long anyway), than being forced to have one game as half ogre.
Their redesign is horrible enough... and if i have to pick between being forced to play a human or being forced to play a fantasy race i do not want to play at all.. (and mind you, i dislike qunari only a slight bit more than dwarves)... i'd pick humans over any other option. Quite frankly... being forced to play a Qunari or a Dwarf would kill my immersion into the game. I don't like the way dwarven are protrait and i don't really feel like playing Worf... i mean Sten and his Klingon... urm i mean Qunari Friends.

You make it sound like that would be impossible. All they would need to do is record additional lines for other races. It would take more efford on the Voice Actors part and a couple scenes would need to be recorded like 3-4 Times.
But in DA:O it didn't really matter as much if you played Dwarf or Elf... the humans usually refered to both non-humans in the same way. The only differance there was, was in the different origins, which could have been easily averted by deciding the DA3 Characters Race can be whatever you choose because your origin is... dunno... being a Prisoner of Darkspawn, clawing your way out of the deeproads with amnesia.

Winning. That's all the character will do. Plus he'll live in a mansion with two goddesses.

Lolz, just jerkin around. But in my opinion, I think that I have trouble thinking about who could possibly fill the gap of the new protagonist with the devs confirming that Hawke is "the most important character in Thedas"
Although I am sure there can be various other potentially interesting characters that we could be in DA: 3, the prospect of forever being in Hawke's shadow is not a cheerful one. This is of course if the devs are completely acturate in this assesment and that quote is not another marketing technique...(a part of me kind of wants it to be...for the protagonist of DA:3's sake)

Hawke can be the most important figure, possibly bringing a major change to the world they knew.. but there are few people in our history who managed to "shake the world" on more than once in their life time.
In my opinion Hawke will have play his part after DA2. Any other way to go about it, will make me very pissed. Because then i do want them to continue the story about what happened to my warden, for i already know Hawke hardly will grow as dear to me as my warden did.

You could argue about Einstein being the most important physicist in our modern life. And yet, there is are still people like Newton, Hawkings, Franklin and a lot of other physicists which played no small part in the matter, without being overshadowed by Einstein and the revolution he brought about.

Agreed. I'd rather be able to encounter Hawke later on but still see new perspectives.

Considering the speed DA2 came out, I assume the games will perhaps be more episodic, which would lend itself well to the idea. It also allows us to take various sides of the same debate, find new love interests, and try new classes (now that all 3 are damn fun).
In particular I would love to the the Tevinter (spelling?) Empire. Seeing the Mage dominated society would be an interesting change, and perhaps give a new perspective on the Mage/Templar debate.

So, relax.
You may, however, get to play Hawke again in the inevitable DA 2: The Expansion.

Tevinter or Antivia in DA3 with all new stories and characters -

I would love 3 games with 3 separate characters in 3 different regions. Each having one main overarching theme that leads into a fourth game that decides the fate of all Thedas.
I agree. DA3 should be about the Imperium's war with the Qunari. DA4 should take place in Orlais as it's the most poerful nation in Thedas.

It would be kinda cool if we had for example the war between Tevinter and the Qunaris and then as given the option to either play as Human/Elf/Dwarf(?) on the Tevinter side and fight for tdefeating the big Qunari threat or taking the role on the Qunari side and trying to gain more groun against tevinter? Then u could end up with like 4-5 "origins" each showing u how u either as human/elf/dwarf or maybe even a outcasted qunari who fights for some kind of revenge for being betrayed (Hurr Leliana Hurr) and one as a qunari (commander?) who fights for taking over the Tevintier?
Good idea, I like it. Athough if it happens, then I doubt there will be much dwarves to play, as the dwarven kingdoms are far away, and the elves will probably be there as slaves, so I guess you wont be able to play them, although if they make DA3 about the war between Tevinter Imperium and the Qunari realms, then I rather guess you will have two heroes to choose from, either as a person from Tevinter or a Qun of Qunari realms.
If you play a Qun, perhaps you`ll be Sten from Origins? They allready have him voiced and he did return if you didnt leave him at Lothering, if not him, then perhaps another Qun to play.
And perhaps Wynne and Shale will also be there. In my point of view, the Tevinter Imperium and the Qunari realms would be a good place to be in DA3.A new idea that came to my mind could be that it a three story thing
Either u play as a Qunari and try to conquer Tevinter or u play as a Human commander in the Tevinter army and try to defeat the qunari AND hold an elven, what do u say, revolution/uproar in place? OR u play as an little more talented elf which leads the elven slave trade into an uproar? But in the end it comes pretty clearly down to Qunari vs The citizens of Tevinter Humans and elf slaves. Or could the whole elven thing be to much? Maybe u can play as some1 from the denerim Alienage that got transported in the slave trade there during DA:O
Haha yeah, playing an elf could also be a possibility, specially if the elf comes from Ferelden. It would be a great story! Say that you come from Ferelden in the slave ships, you arrive Tevinter and becomes a slave, somehow you break free from the chains and starts a revolt, perhaps in the midst of a war between the qunari and the tevinter. That indeed would be great XD, lol now I really wish I worked for Bioware, then I could present this idea to them..although I guess they have something similiar planned anyway.
And what about being discussed lately, yeah DA4 should be about the two other Old Gods awaken (if possible) at the same time and as A NEW person from orlais (wherre this big blight threaten most

Is it just me that want the Warden back? The game is not out yet, but I am still mad about not getting to see what happen after I went into the portal.
I want answers to those questions, but I don't necessarily need to play my Warden for that.
But I suspect those answers will have to wait for an expansion/DA3.

I voted for Seheron. "I miss the smells of Seheron, tea and incense and the sea." Sounds lovely. Plus there's more political turmoil there than Par Vollen (though I'd love to see the Fex). The main character... hmm, an escaped slave?

I agree with having a new protagonist for every DA but I doubt they'll go back to multiple races unless each race has grown up in a human city and thus has a human voice because I doubt they'll take the full voice acting away unless it is for a spin-off DA game.

Oh and saving the world like The Grey Warden or Hawke would cool to go alon with it I guess, since you can't have an RPG that doesn't involve you saving the world ...or the galaxy. LOL
But I'm serious about a swashbuckling RPG, its something we just don't ever see.
