This is a surprisingly common viewpoint. When I first came out to my parents and told them about my girlfriend, their first response was "But she's Jewish, right?"

I laugh harder then I should.

Oh god.

Truth. It's actually how you can anticipate companions. If you can have sex with it, you can fight with it. Eventually.

So I'm getting Conner's Desire Demon as a companion?

I think I just heard Maria squeeing.

I do not squee.

And I'm hoping for Sebastion's desire spirit or the one in the Mage's tower. The Redcliffe one was a bit of a p****y.

Sadly, no. The only other Jew I knew in my entire dormitory was a guy and a complete tool.

It's a desire demon. The only thing better than married sex is divorced sex.

That's unfortunate. I ran the numbers and the chances of you finding a lesbian or bisexual Jewish girl around your age are very low unless you live in New York or Miami. I can't imagine how you'd manage it prior to the Internet.

A lot of Jews in Miami? Really? But I don't care. That was years ago, I think my parents have given up. My last girlfriend was half-black, which caused something of a stir at Christmas :?

Awww.  Sorry to hear that.  My sister apparently has a black girlfriend and I didn't see anyone bat an eye at the last gathering.  This is Texas.

I always get surprised to hear discrimination still goes on.

It's good to know that's not an issue for them. I tend to value my mother's approval a great deal.

My Dad's family are Southern Quakers. He converted when he married my mom, but we still celebrate it with them.

My grandmother (dad's mom) came to visit us once when I was in high school. I grew up in Western Maryland which is not... racially diverse? She'd been there for a few days when she called me into the sunroom where she was sitting in the recliner and said to me "You don't have much of a problem with the blacks here, do you?"

That's grandmothers, though.  My grandmother once said to me "You can't be atheist, you're too nice."

No you're right, it's not: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homophobe

How is she a homophobe? She just said that she prefers to have sex with heterosexual people, rather than bisexual. It's not homophobia, it's preference.

I get this! im gay but my female friend has told me she worries sometimes about other girls showing interest in her bf. even if he doesnt reciprocate it makes her uncomfortable. Then she found out he was bi. Adds a whole other kettle of fish. Some peopel just prefer it if they date someone who only likes one gender. and it can be the same for s/s couples too. As my example shows, this is for good reason, even if they dont act on it. So try not to through "homophobe" around too much. xxxx

This is called Biphobia. It's bad. Just like homophobia is bad. Biphobia can come from gay, straight and even Bi people.

What's really sad is that her husband, who died before I was old enough to remember him, was truly what I would call "colorblind." I don't get how she can have such ideas ingrained in her head when she was married to someone who crusaded for racial equality as a judge in the South.

That sucks for you that your family are that picky, I suppose it could be worse though. At least your parents didnt get down on you for being gay. Thats pretty cool Posted Image

Even so I dont think that someone not feeling coimfortable dating a bi person is biphobic. I can totally see why. My friend i mentioned is very live and let live and supportive of gay and bi people. But it is possiblke to be a bit worried someone else will attept to take your guy/girl away. Not sayingh a bi person is more likely to respond to those advances, just that the advances being able to come from both genders could set peoples teeth to grate. Which I donmt think is phobic in any sense, just cautious against ANYONE flirting with your partner and  just not being overjoyed that the amount of potential people trying it on is now possibly more.
