To not find bi characters attractive is fine but I find the "I will never buy Bioware games again because of they are cramming homosexuality down my throat" a tad offensive. Like its repulsive or something weird like that.

No one is cramming anything down your throat. (Oh the puns!) Don't like it, don't do it.

It's not really all that strange to be heterosexual and only want to be with heterosexual people, you know.

No you're right, it's not: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homophobe

How is she a homophobe? She just said that she prefers to have sex with heterosexual people, rather than bisexual. It's not homophobia, it's preference.

I get this! im gay but my female friend has told me she worries sometimes about other girls showing interest in her bf. even if he doesnt reciprocate it makes her uncomfortable. Then she found out he was bi. Adds a whole other kettle of fish. Some peopel just prefer it if they date someone who only likes one gender. and it can be the same for s/s couples too. As my example shows, this is for good reason, even if they dont act on it. So try not to through "homophobe" around too much. xxxx

Thank god I know now...

I was so confused and thought it was a poor slang of "relationship".

Great, this just means I have to be careful with everyone now.

Or you could just, y'know, pick the dialogue options that don't have the "Flirt" symbol/picture/whateverthehellIcallthatthing in front of it.

My only hope is that the characters are well written enough before hand that they don't tell me "I like boys/girls/everyone." If I want to have a gay romance, I want a gay romance, and if I want a bi-romance, I want a bi-romance, and if I want a straight romance, I want a straight romance. If I'm going for a hetero relationship with Merrill, and she drops me for Isabella, I will shoot a kitten. Same if Fenris drops me for a girl.

Is that not being careful? Making sure you don't hit the flirt dialogue?

i really hope they are NOT all bisexual because really sometimes it just doesnt fit!
talking to anders he doesnt seem to be interested in men, and from what i heard of Merril she isnt very...open
and if it really is true, i sincerly hope that bioware never does it again

It's good to know that all bisexuals act one way. Tell me, staldore13, oh master of human sexuality, how should bisexuals act?

What about being able to set the "squadmate" characters sexual perferance before you begin your playthrough?, and based on that setting some conversation tree options remain closed ? - That way surely everyone is happy?

Personally I dont want all characters to be bi as I just don't see that as realistic

So...a sexuality toggle is more realistic than four bisexuals.

Merrill has hot Merrill/LadyHawke screenshots, and some people have seen livestream footage of dudeHawke and Anders/Fenris, indicating beyond reasonable doubt that they are available as LIs. I don't have a link to the Merrill screens, though I'm sure someone does. As for the livestream, well, it was live =P So, you'll just have to trust us =)

I propose "fawke" and "mawke."

Seriously, Tielis, this.

I'm pretty sure Fenris doesn't bring up his interest in men if you play as a female.

There's your het-only romance right here.

Or romance Sebastian, who won't sleep with anyone.

Yes, I think I alluded to this earlier.  If he never mentions that "oh, by the way, I like men too", hey, we're good to go!

Not a perfect solution, but one that I can deal with until people decide that every sexuality deserves something special.

can i just say for the record that I really like the chaste romance option. For those who don't want to be physical but still wnat the love aspect Id say they should give you the choice to remain chaste. I mean say you refused to have sex with the very randy Isabela, then she falls in love with you despite that. I think it would be lovely cause you'd get chrarcter depth that way and not everyone speeding ahead to bonk! heheheh

Not all the characters are bi. Anders and Isabela are. Fenris is straight and Merrill is gay if you flirt with them as a woman. The reverse is true if you play a male character.

Funnily enough, when I see M!Hawke, I pronounce it "mawke" in my head. I dynamically change any alternate female references to Lady Hawke, though.

Zevran does mention that he is bisexual to a Female Warden who is romancing him. I remember it distinctly because he asks you if it bothers you that he has been with men and there was no "HOT DAMN THAT'S SEXY" reply.

That irked me. If you're goingto cater to people who find it "ugh" you can at least cater to people who find it hot.

Sheesh. Discrimination I say!

And yes the discrimination part isn't meant to be taken seriously.

It's really not.

I approve of the mental changes to "Lady Hawke" though. It's the only correct way to describe her.:D

No, I would hate this idea, I already don't like the sound that Merrill and Fenris might be 'malable' and be either straight or gay depending of Hawke's sex, I'd much rather prefer they are just bi-sexual, as that way they remain more their own characters.  Once you have this much power over dicating your companion characters identites as you're idea suggests, to me they would cease to appear to have any personality of their own, and any likelihood of deep characterisation and interesting relationship building goes out of the window.

Since I'm already slightly worried this might be slightly the case with Merrill and Fenris from what I'm hearing around the forums, I would personally not want to see something like this.  Having a toggle to set your own character's sexual peference would be an interesting idea though

I see your point but again I would say you don't have to use it if you don't want to. As I said the idea of being able to romance all characters dosent appeal to me but at the same time personally speaking I would probably not use the option myself

The only thing I'm confused about is as to when Sebastian became a LI. Stepped into the Romances thread for a sec and there's a bunch of people saying that they will romance Seb first, or second etc.

The guidebook for DA2 apparently has Sebastian listed as a LI. =]  They said he was a 'chaste' romance, at that.

The guide confirmed him as an LI, if a chaste one. He took Chantry vows, so no nookie for you. But you can have a romantic but non-sexual relationship with him.

I think it's great they are all bi. Don't pick the options, and it's no big deal! The shock!
