What would you have replace the ME2 Boss?

What would you say would have made a truly epic boss for ME2? "Anything but Termi-Reaper" doesn't count, since it doesn't really add to the discussion haha. Bonus points if you can come up with something that truly captures the whole "Suicide Mission" feel, considering how Shephard and team basically take on the Collector Base with insane ease (even more so if you're fully upgraded).

Death by Claymore and elbows.

That said, I think an alternate end boss fight between Shepard and a Harbinger-possessed/enhanced Collector General would've been good too.

I've been reading these forums for a while, this is my first thread, and have noticed a lot of people dislike the ME2 boss. I didn't see another thread asking this so I thought I would make one.

I think if it had been like a giant George Bush, it would have lent more to the thinking that the human race and the galaxy was in peril, rather than some gargantuan uber-chromed birthchild of the terminator.

Human Reaper, sure, but have it be non-functional. Maybe barely conscious; let Shepard kill it while it's helpless and doesn't even really know what it is yet.

With the Collector General on top of it, and loads of waves of Collectors/Husk rushes/Platform circling Scions/Praetorians attacking while getting closer and closer.

2) Not a boss, specifically, but waves of Collectors that Shepard must fight through or hold off.
3) as #2, but replace "Collectors" with "indoctrinated humans" For a really "dark second act", add a few familiar faces in there, especially if you dawdled before triggering the SM
4) Shepard doesn't encounter anything. Cut to Hold the Line and play as a different character until it's time for The Run Back.

Fighting through an area with a mix-up of different enemies (where were the batorians, by the way...off taking a nap?) while trying to flee with your squad might be interesting and could tie into how many people survive. The longer you take to get out and join the other group, the more squadmates die...something along those lines. That would stress me out a lot more than some end boss.
